Based on bargaining agreement info I've read, it appears that MLB is not only a fen of greed, on both sides, it is headed for a moronic result...if any at all.
Disgusting and disappointing, especially when a fragile player like Seager can get a third of a billion dollars, probably propped up by the extended playoff format on it's inevitable way.
Soon, mediocrity will be the top of the bar, at least enough, with .500 W/L teams the new annual participants. Every season.
Why not just award everyone a participation trophy ?

Thank you Hall of Famer voters who kept B*nds and Clemens out of Cooperstown. Bonds and Clemens have no one to blame but themselves for this situation. They were HOF before they chose to break the rules.

    Wow...
I guess Buster got out just in time...
His piss tests in the future will be to determine how severe his enlarged prostate is.
And the money tree in the garden helps, too.
    Lucky, lucky boy..
Oh, and lest forgotten, congratulations to testes and anus tanning titan Gabe Kapler, who was universally excoriated here by all when his name came up for 15 seconds when LA was considering him before they arrived at their hiring the Rosetta Stone of managers, Dave Roberts...
Oh, kudos to you too, Barry...hold Jeff Kunt's beer while he finishes his dirt biking...

I logged on just to gripe about this article: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...rry-bonds-roger-clemens-wouldnt-get-voted-in/ Your post gave me a good springboard.

First of all, the author, Matt Snyder seems over-the-top butt-hurt that Bonds and Clemens won't get in. Boo-fucken-hoo.

He talks about how the Hall is already filled with players who'll never be candidates for sainthood. Yeah, you know what? Bonds is an ass. He was always an ass. Having grown up in the area, I have friends that knew him at Serra HS, and they'll tell you to a man that his doucheness was strong even back then. Is that why he shouldn't be in the Hall? Not at all. I don't need to feel good about the personalities of players who were otherwise best at the game.

What is inexcusable is the degree to which Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, McGwire et al changed the game by cheating. It's akin to why players aren't allowed to bet on baseball - cue Pete Rose. Snyder makes the point that Bonds won 7 MVPs, while the next most is 3, and Clemens was awarded 7 CY's, while the next highest is 5. He speaks as if this should support their eligibility for the HOF, when actually it demonstrates the degree to how much their cheating helped them. Sure, Bonds may have had a Hall-worthy career if he played it clean, but I can assure you he would've been nowhere near 7 MVPs. That's the effect of steroids - the gravity of this form of cheating dwarfs anyone playing on amphetamines or alcohol or anything else. The record books are now permanently skewed - most MVPs, most CYs, most HRs career, most HRs season, highest OBP... the list goes on and on. The black mark left on the game by Bonds and Clemens and company will be there to the end of time.

So yeah, I'm loving the fact that their careers won't be celebrated in the ultimate way. And if Snyder wants to take his ball and go home, so be it.

I have no problem with Bonds and Clemens being left out but why is Ortiz in the HOF? He was a positionless player who cheated. Is it because he smiled a lot and was more likable in the eyes of the media? I don’t get it. David Ortiz doesn’t belong in the HOF.

Ha! I never heard that story, but none of it surprises me. Well actually, it sounds like his dad was a dick, too, which I wouldn't have guessed.

The funny thing is that one of my buddies that knew him told me he would refer to himself in the 3rd person in just casual conversation, too. That wasn't just a thing he did with the press during interviews.

Clearly he's one of those people that basically felt he could do anything he wanted to without consequence, which is why the HOF snub is so noteworthy.

That is exactly why Ortiz is in the HOF.
Who votes on the HOF? A bunch of idiots whose opinions don't matter but also have their own personal agendas.

How many MVP votes are going to go against Rodgers for the sole purpose he is not vaccinated? At least 1 confirmed MVP voter said Rodgers isn't the MVP because he is a jerk for not being vaccinated.

by that measure a whole lot of guys shouldn't be in there including Cobb
performance on the field should be the only parameter unless you murdered or raped someone
doesn't matter though its been a long time since any HOF was relevant

Always a pleasure to see Cheryl Hines...doing anything.
Her most recently admired by myself action was calling her husband, Robert Kennedy, "reprehensible " for his comparisons of vax policies opposite his akin to the "Nazis"...
I never liked the quavery voiced, hypocritical, privileged brat, whose carbon footprint campaign turned laughable when an overhead aerial photo showed 14 cars (9 of them SUVs) at his huge compound, not to mention over 40 private jet flights annually...really helping out the pollution factor with aviation fuel exhaust...just can't do those commercial flights, eh, Robert ?
But trying to find some redeeming quality in him, which is my lifelong endeavor about people (what a guy, eh?), he is fucking Cheryl Hines.
    Life is just not fair...
