    nah
I'd rather have Kershaw healthy for 180 innings than 9.

In Rome, when a general had a Triumph in his honor, he rode in a chariot with a boy whispering in his ear " sic transit gloria"... " glory is ( only) fleeting". We all know that.
    Patton.
Well, CK was a conqueror today, and I don't really know how fleeting this performance today will be. All I know is I feel priveledged to have seen it, and won't be forgetting it any time soon. Absolutely wonderful.
It ignited the whole team, and showed all what it can achieve.
Bravo, Clayton. As good as it gets.
I just wish Orel would have been there to tell is his feelings about it. Would've been special for him...and us.

Old school baseball me hated the decision.

2022 me thought it was right. A shortened spring, a veteran pitcher with an injury history and less than ideal weather conditions. Although it's not like the weather bothered Kershaw. And it wasn't like Kershaw had never thrown one before.

Great to see a glimpse of future HOFer Kershaw. Shows you don't need 95-100 mph to dominate.

No sense trying to justify or excoriate Dave...it's useless and futile. And just the beginning, as we all deep down inside, know will be a mountain of questionable moves. As always, every season. But how often does this chance come along? A team perfect is swell, sure.
But Kershaw deserved that shot, on a super short lease...but give the guy his due.
CK seemed OK with it though. I've never seen him smile as much, in a game anyway.
If he was OK with it, then I think we should be, no ?

I was out in the mountains and didn't know the details until yesterday.

There is one metric that the bean counters really forgot: 23.

There have been only 23 perfect games recorded in MLB history, and CK was potentially 18 pitches away from 24.

After 14 seasons of loyal service, doesn’t the team owe CK at least the chance?

Also, while no-hitters have seemingly become somewhat commonplace, it has been 10 years since the last perfect game.

I found Reggie Jackson's tweet interesting. He ripped the decision to pull CK, telling those who have never played the game to stay out of its way.

In the end, the fan in me was disappointed, but it sounds like even Kershaw felt he had hit his limit.

I have the feeling he felt gassed, like he had nothing left. That’s probably why he didn’t go ballistic on Roberts. But, sometimes as a manager, you encourage your players. Maybe a little nudge would have gotten two more innings out of him.

If he gives up a hit, nothing lost. No one would have e disrespected CK.
