Dodger starters over past 11 games: 7-0 with a 1.31 ERA.

Great pitching, dead ball, or both?

i do not like madbum but in this specific case i can see him losing it
we all know the cursory gay check that all pitchers have to go through now but wtf is this?
ffs he could have at least given him a hand job the way he was staring into his eyes
way over the top on the umps homo intentions

    hand job, haha

Yeah, that's a little creepy and it sure does look like the ump was baiting him.

That said, Bumgarner has been a prima donna his whole professional (at least) life. Two pitches didn't go his way - both close, but neither one a strike. And he's doing his scowl and hand gesturing and running of the mouth thing. I don't want to see that, maybe the ump didn't either. No, baiting is not good. But Bumgarner put himself in that situation, and he gets no sympathy from me. Hit the showers, and maybe next time you check yourself.

Also, purely from a devil's advocate perspective, maybe it wasn't baiting by the ump. Maybe the ump said something like "look at me," and was going to try to give some advice to cool him down, like, "it's a long game, stay calm." And then it looks like Bumgarner was resisting looking at him, so the ump just waited, and did the finger thing to stall until Bumgarner had to look up. Then who knows what the pitcher said at that point, but it must've been too far over the line to allow him to stay in the game.

I don't know how feasible that explanation is, but maybe?

Not an encouraging update on Treinen from the Dodger website.
RHP Blake Treinen (right shoulder inflammation)
    Expected return:TBD
Treinen, who has been out since April 14, is still not recovering from injury, and the right-hander is scheduled to visit a doctor and undergo tests on May 9. Given the delicate nature of a shoulder injury, the Dodgers are concerned that it could be a long-term issue for Treinen but should have a better idea of his timetable following the exams. – Juan Toribio (Last updated: May 7)

Crazy to think: Buehler's solid performance yesterday lowered his ERA to 1.96 on the year... which is only good enough for fourth best among Dodger starters.

Lol, if he's available and the Dodgers get him, baseball twitter gonna have a melt down. He'd still cost the largest prospect package in baseball history.

And Miller would definitely have to headline the package. Would sting but Soto is more than worth it

No way. This is somehow 100% due to his misuse by Dave Roberts from last post-season.

Maybe someone can tell me why Caleb Ferguson was sent down again?
I know I'm prejudiced for the kid, but he's a valuable asset, imo.
I just don't get that on a staff that's at best, a patchwork quilt...
