wanted his fat loser ass gone for a while
doesn't appear to be anything redeemable pitching wise in all that flesh

No excuse for coming into the game in the 9th with a four-run lead and walking two batters. If you have that little control of your pitches, you're not major league worthy.

Considering how the game was called Slater was stupid to take the final pitch of the game. Way too close to take in that situation.

Old Yeller for the both of them, especially the porker who walked two mediocre hitters to set the entire mess in motion.

At least the Tub of Goo was effective for a time (one memorable pitch to Joe Morgan aside).

I agree. But what does it say about CY award recipient David Price, then ? If the ump didn't blow the third strike, keeping up his age old tradition ?
( It was close, but a ball), I think more damage would have been done. For sure.
Also, in spite of this great 18/20 run we're on, the BP is very precarious, imo.
Very...but I guess every BP walks a fine line, in reality.
At this moment, we are dependent on two cogs in it, Price and Kimbrel, although at one time supremely talented, have those days in the rear view mirror, let's face it.
I'm not blaming this on anyone, even not on Robots, it just is what it is right now, but before the post season wars begin, much tightening up is required.
I don't know what they do about closer...Kimbrel in the post?
    The stuff of nightmares.

Price is unreliable. I don't want to see him anywhere near the mound in a key situation. But at least he wasn't putting base runners on with a four run lead. I'd be less critical of Moranta in that spot if the batters hit their way on.

And Kimbrel at closer... I've said all along I hope AF & Co. are working on a plan B for the playoffs. The good teams would eat him up.

the pen is definitely a weak spot
but if not for injuries a guy like moronta would still be washing dishes
    no excuse for kimbrel
but guys like bickford and vesia have been overextended
and caleb looks like he’s feeling his way back

    on the positive…
evan phillips has been fucken nails
treinen, may, kahnle, bazooka should be returning before season’s end, and we might even see victor and duffy
also when ferris and heaney come back it greatly increases our bullpen depth

Hudson's injury was a backbreaker. We really need to get Blake back and back to top form. Hopefully Kimbrel can be some semblance of decent so we can go into the playoffs with Treinen, Phillips, Ferguson, and Kimbrel as the main guys with Graterol there too and can rely on them but 1-2 trades for the bullpen is definitely needed (I said this same thing last year and they did nothing though).

Jake Lamb has been really disappointing.

Thought he'd be different than Neuse/Raley since hes proven he can hit big league pitching in the past but he's showing that the pitching in AAA is atrocious.

I've said this before, but it seems disproportionately often that Kershaw gets stuck with the C-lineup behind him. I mean, Mary's Little Lamb at cleanup? Seriously?

Phillips has been great but you get the sense he's being overused

Yeah, Lamb bounced back after that pathetic first inning AB. Lamb-Lux-Max-Trayce have been key today.

No. Just a clueless relief pitcher.
