not sure those voices work together but it doesn't really matter if you've drunk yourself blind to the sound of old T-res

i was in TJ under a disco ball dancing w a working girl on acid and all i could hear in my head was "its takes a greasy whore and a rolling dance floor, you know you're jail house bound!"

I'm sure I've related this story before but I saw them at Fillmore West on one of their first US tours. They were fourth bill (if you can believe it) to Savoy Brown, Seatrain and Ry Cooder. Around eight hrs of music for about $5.

been aware of this band since Frusciante produced their exquisite corpse ep but holy shit
is it just me or is this some of the most hypnotic light jazz ever recorded?
love the move toward jazz atm and all the intrinsic emotion

    Same here.
Except not acid just weed and all the watered down tequila shots from a guy shooting from the hip.

just got back from the premiere of moonage daydream the Bowie movie
for true fans its a must see in imax but its not as much unseen footage as i had imagined
in fact it was completely different from what i was expecting i guess
a lot of him talking about his life and what he should have been from very philosophical aspects
extremely cool and i will certainly see it again just surprised i guess
totally reinforces and shines the light on what a brilliant man he was

yeah i saw it of course and it didn't really bother me because his music was playing or he was talking
not sure anyone would be expecting a huge hollywood movie out of it though since it really is made by a fan for fans
Morgen could have gone for the easy stuff and songs like Life on Mars have imagery but really no screen time or discussion which was a bit odd since its a masterpiece
but again he made it about the man more than the music alone which was really interesting and something i didn't expect
other reviews will hit the nail more articulately and i guess i was probably most disappointed w the lack of nearly anything he did beyond the 90s
that was just jumbled into a loud 60 second montage of blips during Hallo Spaceboy which is a great song but did it need to be played twice?
easy to be critical and i'll say he didn't do anything that maybe me cringe, not even close
just so much imagery and music from one man...its an awesome film

    they’re doing it to themselves
and theaters aren’t doing them any favors
wife and i were going to go to a movie a couple weeks back…
then we saw how much the prices had gone up since before covid
fuck that shit — wait a couple months and it’ll be $3.99 on youtube
there are certain movies that are much better on the big screen, but most are fine at home for much cheaper
and fwiw, it serves the hollywood libs right for turning a blind eye to scumbags like weinstein for so long
