dodgers pass on giving heaney a qualifying offer
makes sense... qualifying offer would have netted him $19.65mm, and he made $8mm in 2022

Time to let the young arms (Miller, Grove or Pepiot) take over for place holders like Heaney.

R.I.P. Ray Guy, one of the greatest punters there ever was...back when the Raiders were in their heyday.
I just never could figure out how he got that power as a smaller guy...he was as good as it gets. A true weapon.

I agree in concept to a certain point. But really, isn't Freeman and T Turner and Anderson and Heaney new blood ? If you mean the Duffys and the chunk of RPs that turned into blobs of static rotten meat...I agree.
Friedman has been taint licked for a long time, but what about his failures that cost millions and either gave nothing or very little in return? Reclamation projects are fine, when they work, everyone spouts how genius, and then go eerily quiet ( much like the lack of comments on the election results last week) about the wastes of time and money...and we've had our fair share. Not mentioning the bluster and overconfidence we heard all year long like a mantra.
If you mean guys like JT, Bellinger and CT, they're a tougher lot to sort out, mainly because of their potential and previous performances.
Given the relentless talent overall they have had on the roster, the new blood needs to be the manager, imo, whose had it all at his disposal, and a glut of raves for the regular season successes, and ultimately, done the minimum on the brass ring thing. Bare minimum.
He, like Tom Hayden, is just not a wartime consiglieri...
It's flogging a dead horse, though, unless what the achievements desired are is to be elite and front runner with Vegas odds. Annually, ad infinitum.
If that's where it's really at ( the FO " disappointment " then revealing it is a beard of rhetoric), then they've got a winner.

    • According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the delay in Justin Verlander re-signing with the Astros could be because (Verlander) sees the potential for a lucrative market to develop, with big-market clubs such as the Dodgers, Yankees and Mets involved.
