When Taylor has games like this, it gives me a glimmer of hope.

Great to see Vargas coming around too.

Damn... an all around excellent team game tonight. Everyone contributed. Even Vesia. Julio with his best start of the season. Great stuff!

Well, well, well...what a difference when the Billionaire Boys Club hits the ball, eh?
Imagine if Barnsey and Rojasey could bat a combined total of .250 BA ? Why, why...it would be swell !!
    Neat.
    Groovy.

    I'm here all weekend, bro.
Bring the wife and friends...seats available, but selling fast.
Sample: Why didn't the velociraptor cross the road ?

This is a paleontologist joke...I know a few.

Was it totally necessary to bring this kid up now and watch him get scrambled ? What did they expect ? Now the BP will be well used going in to SD for sure...makes bad bb sense, imo.
Just great for the kid's confidence, too.
Looks like Slapsy Maxie is back.

On the bright side, very likely the end of "stone-cold" puns on mlb.com

Kimbrel pitching exactly like you'd expect someone with a man bun to pitch!

If you told me last year that I'd be a huge Kimbrel fan in the future, I'd probably have hit you.

Max coming up in that spot is the perfect example of redemption factor in baseball. From a play in the first inning with a glove of steel to a grand slam homer in the ninth to win it.
Something in the makeup of the game that allows that. In the DNA of the game, unquestionably.
Don't know if it was pondered and planned during it's creation, or it just something that evolved over the years.
Amazing when you think about it. I guess other sports at times have that same element, but not to the degree of baseball.

I truly believe that Roberts is a Grade A idiot. But I've got to hand it to him today. He made two moves that made no sense whatsoever, yet both paid off. He had Rojas bat for Heyward and Barnes for Peralta. I'm not a fan of Heyward or Peralta, but both have been swinging a hot bat, and Rojas and Barnes are pretty much our two weakest hitters. Why would that even enter Dave's mind - is it the righty lefty thing? In any case, we needed a base runner and someone to drive him in, and that's exactly what those two did. So for one day, hats off to Roberts for making the right moves.

    What a win.

Contributions from everyone, including Barnes and Rojas?

Glad they got the kid off the hook. He was leaving his killer change up in the zone. Probably just first game nerves. Nice job by the pen keeping them in it. The bloops aren't what got Bazooka. It was the walk just fucked him.

That's the Kimbrel we knew and loved. Lights out to one batter (Betts) and dog shit to rest. Only thing better would be if he was pitching for the Giants.

Trayce was brought to hit LHers. Nice thought but he can't lay a glove on them. He's a K machine who hits an occasional bomb.
