    hmmm…

ROBERTS: “We just don’t have the guys who steal bases. We’re just not constructed that way. That’s just the facts. I just don’t like giving up outs or giving up bases. If there’s right opportunities to steal a base, we’ll do that. But it’s just not part of our offense.”

FRIEDMAN: “I’d like to have more stolen bases. I haven’t dug into it. But I would like to have it be more. I think we have a number of guys that can pick spots and get to double digits. A lot of guys can do that.”

BLUEZOO: " Once in a while you can score an important run and even win the game by bunting"...

ROBERTS: " I think I may have heard of that bunt thing, but we're not constructed that way anyway...even if I were familiar with it"...

One more hour and we would've allowed a month to pass without contributing to this thread. Can't have that so I'm here to say, "Fuck Roberts!"

He's such a loser. This morning's game... 10-10 in the 7th, Dodgers have two on with one out, Barnes is up. 0 for 3 Barnes. You know, the guy hitting less than 1.00. The guy who already got his May hit back on the 16th. Critical point in the game. On the bench he has his all-star worthy catcher, the one with a batting average higher than Barnes' OPS. No brainer pinch hit, right? WRONG! He lets Barnes bat, strike out, and register LOBs number four and five for the game... and Dodgers lose by one.

At least Smith got to PH with two out and bases empty in the ninth... for Thompson who was on base all four times in this game. The brilliance shining off our manager is blinding.

    Yeah... fuck him.

Asked #Dodgers manager Dave Roberts if Noah Syndergaard is going to make his next start in Cincinnati: "Um, I don’t know. The hope is that he does. Right now I just don’t want to answer that question."

Dave Roberts on Noah Syndergaard: "Ironically, the stuff and velocity was the best it's been this entire year in his last start. But the command might've been one of his worst as far as missing out over, and the secondary wasn't what it has been early."

"So if we could meld the velocity with the secondary, I think it could be pretty fun to watch."

Matthew Moreno on Twitter: "Dave Roberts on Noah Syndergaard: "Ironically, the stuff and velocity was the best its been this entire year in his last start. But the command might've been one of his worst as far as missing out over, and the secondary wasn't what it has been early."" / Twitter

Fun to watch??? Is this guy for real? He needs to decide if he's a manager or a fan.

And as far as Noah, I'll give him this much. At least he's saying the right things and taking full responsibility for his sucktitude. It's evident that it's eating him up. Maybe that's part of the problem - he needs to figure out how to get his confidence back.

idiotic to march caleb out there when sucks against righties
inexcusable to keep him out there for six hitters when he was clearly struggling
and now instead of taking any responsibility, he’s choosing to essentially shit on his players instead
    great leader

“To score three runs in the first inning and to go back and give away three in the bottom half, not good. And Tony threw so many pitches in that first inning — he could only go five innings, and we were fortunate to get him through five innings. And so, what that does is that exposes you in the bullpen and then when you go to the bullpen… they got to be better,” Roberts said. “Tonight, Fergie was all over the place. The walks, the hit batter. It sped up on him, and it was very apparent tonight. They’re not throwing the ball well. There’s walks in there. Like I said, there’s hit batsman in there, there’s no punch and then you’re getting the walk. And so that’s a bad combo and so you know, when you look down there and, you know, I can trust guys, but it comes with, it’s gotta work both ways. The talent’s there, but they’ve got to do their part too and tonight was a night that we shouldn’t have lost this game.”

    What a dick.

He implies that he's doing his part and they aren't. The only part he does well is fill a quota.

Really wish he would just be accountable. It all starts with the manager. You want to accept kudos in the good times? Well then accept responsibility when it all goes to shit.

The Dodgers have had an insane talent edge on their NL West opponents during most of Dave's tenure. It's allowed them to easily win the division despite many questionable managing decisions throughout the season. Those decisions ultimately catch up to them in the playoffs when the playing field is a lot more even. We all know that anyone with a pulse could have managed these teams to the playoffs but a real manager would've accomplished a lot more than just 1 WS that many people debate isn't legit. This guy is one of the biggest underachievers of all time.

Dave Roberts will smile and "lead" you to a 12-3 win vs Colorado in June but lose a 5-4 playoff game in October. Wish so badly this asshole was actually in jeopardy of ever losing his job but I sadly don't see it...

way to be on top of things doc
    fucken idiot

Dave Roberts spoke to reporters about Max Muncy yesterday, and said he was dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain but wouldn’t be going on the injured list. This didn’t make much sense considering Grade 2 hamstring strains would take over a month to heal. Earlier today, Muncy provided clarification:
I think there was a goof with the media yesterday. It’s not a Grade 2. It’s just a low grade. … If it was a Grade 2, you’re looking at a month, two months. Thankfully that’s not what I’m looking at right now.”
