    Wasn't a dirty slide. Players are taught to break up double plays with hard slides. His hand even touched the bag. It's not like he went outside of the basepath to make that play happen.

    Kang's cleats grabbed the dirt and he didn't jump. Most of the time we never hear about this because most pros jump out of the way.

    Coghlan sent a note over to the Pirates expressing his regret. Guy didn't do this intentionally.

    The Pirates clean up hitter, wasn' t he?
    The Cubs cuffed them around pretty well, watched quite a bit of the series. Of course, we are not the Cubs, and have different priorities, but it all comes down to winning.
    IMO, this is an important series looking down the road a bit ( not very far,either) with the SFags coming in.
    Big time.

    St. Louis lost to the Cubs. The NL Central race is very interesting now.

    Too bad the Pirates are gonna lose 3 straight.

    I'm a big Greinke fan...lefty on the hill or not, he's not a better hitter than Joc.

    With SVS, Hernandez, and Puig all hurt it's really hurting our platoon depth advantage. Ruggiano has been huge.

    I dont mind Utley on the team as depth, but its gonna be fucking huge to have Howie back

    Yeah Howie is solid. Professional at all times and gets his job done.

    Utley looked better 5 years ago but now I groan whenever I see him in the line up

    Didn't see it as a dirty slide...in fact, Kang played it like he had a wooden leg,with zero athleticism. It's his job to avoid that all (at least better than he did, for sure) as a middle IF, no?
    Unfortunate, not a filthy Chase Utley type thing by any means.
