Sounds like another roster move is coming and it may be a trade. They’re trying to get an arm before the game, so I would not be surprised if the FO is really just fucking with the beat writers.

And just to add some more pessimism ( never enough, you know), it looks as if he may not be the only once mighty piece heading towards the OK corral.

Yeah, he’s not opting out now. Nobody will be dumb enough to give Kershaw $30+M over 5+ seasons with his multiple extended DL stints over the last 3 seasons. If he does opt out, he could be doing the Dodgers a huge favor at this rate.

Looking shitty against one of the teams that's supposed to be among the biggest players in FA this winter doesn't help.
That said..trade his ass at the deadline.
    LAD has their own option.

Trading Kershaw at the deadline is the modern version of trading Jackie to the Giants, back in the day.
It will be interesting to see if the Nerds will eat with the fishes...that is, with the bottom feeders.
In Dodger history, as far as pure greatness, the top three are Robinson, Koufax, and Kershaw, imo. With apologies to my boyhood hero, the Duke.
We'll see if Clayton is put in with the other two.
One who quit playing ball altogether, and the other who carried resentment for years after the Dodger treatment when they were done with him.
    Not a great resume.
Maybe the flounders will be sated.

It's depressing to see a pitcher like Kershaw break down at age 30, especially after a post season run that could've cemented his legacy and added a World Series to his resume. Clayton is a world class human being and a very wealthy man. But from a fan perspective, he's a tragic story for me. Such a bummer.

They'll refer to his "peak years" on hall of fame day instead of 15 years of dominance and possibly the GOAT.

Coming in to close an NLDS is the crowning achievement of the best pitcher I’ve ever seen. Lmao.

Despite being a cunning linguist, did you consider the source?

    I know, I know, it wasn't a "quoted" response. ;) :)

Well, the Kershaw situation reminds me of Cueto and the Gnats last year. After coming off a horrible season, it was a no brainer Cueto would opt into his contract.

And as fate would have it, Cueto is on the DL this year.

    This may not end well.

FO has a lot of work to do. This team is just creaking along...winning games but almost running in place. Never thought trying to reach at least .500 would be such a struggle.
