    caleb gets it

“For the most part staying healthy is No. 1 for me,” said Ferguson during an interview with MLB Network. “And then No. 2, whatever I can do to help the team win. Whether that’s a bullpen role or spot start, starter, whatever I can do to help the team win and get to the World Series.”

Wood was a bitch. Thanks for reminding me. I know Puig was late and shit but I don't think he pouted and complained like Alex and Matt.

Read an interview with Pollock talking about getting to the WS and playing for the Dodgers. "When you send Kershaw out on the mound, you're gonna be in a good spot to win it all". At this point, do players really believe that when they say it?

Thought about that as I was writing that response. Kemp and Puig were both known as not the hardest of workers (though Kemp is more well known for not working hard once the season started) and I couldn't help but think if this is the FO trying to signal in that new era. The club is trying to preach a somewhat similar mentality as the Cards have, something the Dodgers used to possess, but lost in the McCourt/Fox eras. Though I am not sure who you mean by Jeena. If that is Jansen, I would not really agree with that. His offseason regiment was suggested by the training department after his playoff usage in 2017. He and the club determined fairly early last season that things did not workout the way they wanted them too. I've never heard anything about him being anything less than a pretty hard worker.

Jeena was Martin's nickname on here back in 2010 ish.
I may be mis-remembering his role in clubhouse disputes back in the day, which may or may not have been related to work ethic.

ohhhhhh.... yeah there were some rumors that he had gotten pretty comfortable while still here. Not sure if that has changed, but at least now he is a backup catcher and less looked at as a team leader, though reports out of Toronto were that he handled getting benched for the young guys fairly well last year.

My guess is the Giants are interested in Harper as a marketable player, probably valuing the marketability over what the extra wins could get them. And the meeting was to get a better grasp on how far his price has dropped, to see if it makes sense. If nothing else they just want to know "what's going on".

Harper's side will meet with anyone, no harm really. And if it's true that he really interested in the Dodgers... then what better team to meet with than the Giants?

I obviously have no clue who Harper will sign with at this point, but for people to now declare the Giants as favorites to sign him? When they clearly only became interested when they saw his stock falling? But he is still looking for a record-breaking deal? Right.

This team doesn't seem any better than the last 2 seasons. Easy to win this now pathetic division, but we all know what the fucking goal is. I just don't see any move at this point that gets us there.

Trout was at the Lakers/Sixers game in Philly on Sunday. Gonna be a huge upset if Philly doesn't nab him in free agency

If you were Philly, would you save your ammo this year and skip Harper/Machado for a chance at Trout later on?
