I was wondering if dying in a barn fire is worse in some way than dying in just a house fire, or whatever.
Like being shot at dawn...is it worse or perhaps less serious than being shot at sunset? Or noon ?
Or as the Plainfield Paddys say, in the gloaming ?

i remember standing in the park across the street from a property we owned/actually live there now/ was burning in 1971
fire was burning the back half of 2 acre properties and people were standing in the park w all sorts of animals
suddenly a mother and her filly bolt loose and run back into their burning barn
of course they can't tell you and neither can i but from the sounds of the animals, the smell and the tears of the owners it was fucking awful
i was 9 and it's etched on my memory in fact i'm there right now

 

no they burned to death in what was one of the most horrific scenes i've ever witnessed
people always talk about how smart horses are well idts
the park was full of people and animals that were saved that night

 

wasn't that much worse than driving w my sister lost in her mustang the year before
she loved the Beatles and i remember the moment like it was yesterday
we were on Sunset and two teenage girls suddenly ran out in front of us and the guy in the right lane slightly in front of us sent them flying like bowling pins
sister pulled over and went over to console the driver cause there was nothing he could do
i watched her hugging him and one girls body was in the gutter and the others was up by the store front
neither of them were breathing and the fool on the hill played in my ears
had nightmares of that night for 30 years
not sure where they went but i still remember looking over that back seat at the horror like it was yesterday
needless to say i had my lessons on death kind of early

 

my uncle blew his brains out when i was 5 but i didn't find that
some cop did in the early morning on mulholland drive
he blew his mind out in a car
