    I think you are missing the point by a mile. It is absolutely important to embrace it for the betterment and longevity of the sport. The old bitters are dying. The new generation wants to see personality. The best athletes are bypassing baseball for a sport that embraces the flair.

    Without the fun baseball doesn't get the best athletes. Without the best athletes and the fun and flair that they bring the fans will not care as much. It's a new era. Each era must be embraced in ANY business.

    When the old guys pass away the game will slip unless baseball embraces a change NOW. Baseball knows it. They just don't know HOW to implement it because the old grumpies still hold the highest seats in the game.
