Urias is a better hitter than Austin Barnes

Are we really going to be shutout by the Phillies? AND lose a game against the Gnats?

2 pitches outside to Betts gets the Phillies pitcher a 0-2 count

I hope this ump gets food poisoning

Small window against a pitcher like Wheeler and the Dodgers couldn't open it.

Forget it Kersh...just not your night.
That post you responded to was actually in reference to Realmuto, when Kershaw couldn't get him out, and stayed alive, then finally got him him with an RBI hit.
But I generally agree with you about the window we had.
But we had plenty of chances to score off him, and just flat out failed...miserably. Everyone loves blaming Kershaw for pretty much anything he does when we lose...but is 2 runs is really bad? Against a team that was red hot bfore they came in to LA ? I don't think so, imo.
And to tbh, the run productivity against the Phillies was nothing to crow about the whole series. Great pitching for us.
It's tough to win always with milquetoast lineups against one of the top pitchers in MLB.
No Muncy, Turner, Seager, Bellinger and Betts bi polar this year, so far.

Pitching didn't lose last night's game. Lack of a couple of clutch hits did.

betts is getting the 2020 Muncy treatment. Seems like he gets way more calls outside the zone

The game is being woefully hurt by the rampant incompetence shown everywhere across the length and breadth of baseball.
I have friends, to whom I have ranted about the balls and strikes to, who initially laughed at my moaning. But after last year, and so far this year, they call me up to tell me I was right about it and they are gobsmacked just how bad it is. And they are not Dodger fans, I might add.
Without one iota of abatement. Zero being done about it.
Now the big sticky substance thing is front and center...but the deterioration of the keystone of the game's foundation is allowed to fester like a maggot filled wound.
One day, when a world series or deciding playoff game is lost by a pitch called a strike that is six inches outside the zone occurs, maybe something will happen. Maybe.
To expect players to know that the zone is so different than they have been trained from little kids and for years after to recognize, is just plain wrong.
And blatantly detrimental to The Game.
How about some fucking quality control, MLB ?

It’s the little things like that first pitch to Zach clearly being a ball in the first inning that can change a game drastically. Being 1-0 instead of 0-1 vs a great pitcher like Wheeler is a big difference. These umps are crooks.
