I didn’t expect us to lose him to the trash ass Rangers. I’m sick of Fraudman using contract length as some sort of excuse. Seager is going to end up just like Beltre did. Fuck Trea. Seager is younger and homegrown, he’s a much better hitter too. I expected him back once Scherzer was gone. There is absolutely no justification for losing both. None except stubborn cheapassness

Don't forget Seager's deal is from Texas so LAD would have had to come in @350MM to match.

What a fucking clown post. Trea is the same age and literally better at every tool. Seager said a long time ago that he was going to go out and test the market. WTF does home grown have to do with it if the player doesn’t give a shit about home?

That fraud is going to end up with HOF nominations when all is said and done. Friedman isn’t cheap. He’s proven it over and again.
I guess what I’m trying to say is …..pop tarts are tasty

Okay, it's clear you like Seager and hate that we couldn't keep him. I get it. But to cap on Taylor is just weak and ignorant.

You say Taylor's 2021 postseason numbers are skewing things... then let's look at Seager's without his one good postseason (2020)...
    .199 AVG / .272 OBP / .422 SLG with 5 HR and 16 RBI in 43 games.

And what about Taylor without 2021?...
.238 AVG /.352 OBP /.506 SLG with 5 HR and 13 RBI in 51 games.

Oh yeah, and Taylor has 4 fewer strikeouts in 9 more plate appearances.

Sorry bud, but it's you who's judgement appears to be clouded. At $32.5M a season for 10 years, Seager just isn't worth it. Like others have said, he's injury prone and (at best) an average defender. Trea is by far the better shortstop.

Taylor may not be the pure hitter Seager is, but his cost for his next team will be a bargain in comparison. He plays multiple positions, and most of them well. He'll probably sign for 3-4 years at $16-18M per.

imo neither scherzer nor seager were worth what they got
    especially seager
10/$325M for a guy who can barely field his position?
$20 says he'll be a full time DH within 5 years

How about we steal Freeman away from the Braves? You add one of the best bats in all of the sport and weaken the team that has been our biggest competition the past two seasons. I feel like we are going to have the DH next season and we could always put Max there or move him over to second base when healthy. Maybe I am just dreaming but I am surprised he hasn’t been locked up by now

@JonHeyman Teams are trying to pry superstar 1B Freddie Freeman from Atlanta. Some say they still don’t think it will happen but r surprised he’s still free. Dodgers, who lost Seager and could move Muncy to 2B, may have best hope for SoCal product, NYY, TOR (h/t Carlos Baerga) reached out

Word is Freeman had been seeking about $180M for 6 years. Seems reasonable to me. If that’s it, Braves should just pay him.

Some here will probably not like me saying this, but I'd rather have Freeman than Seager. Especially at a much lower cost and less commitment. Much better fielder (albeit, different positions) and a better hitter. That said, I doubt it happens.

Then again, Friedman is prone to pull something when we least expect it...

You are comparing SSS playoff stats? People are insisting Taylor be back mostly because he was great in the playoffs this past year. The numbers that should’ve mattered in this are:
    Age
    27 vs 31
Taylor finished the regular season 28 for 150 (.186), with 59 Ks, and 22 walks. His K rate for the season was 28.6%, more than 12% higher than Seager. The point is the dodgers should’ve been doing everything they did to keep the player entering their prime vs the one exiting his. And you know what else? Taylor’s defense last season fell off, by a lot. He can play a lot of positions but if he isn’t playing them even good, what’s the point? Seagers might have to, but there are a bunch of these things I see in Taylor that are extremely alarming, that even if he walks with Seager now gone, I’m not batting an eye.

all i can say beyond the numbers w CT is his bat and his glove have been there in some of the biggest moments the last 5 years or however long he's been here
of course he has his slumps but for me i love a guy like him on the team and would go above and beyond to retain him
would have liked to retain Seager as well but it wasn't in the cards
if CT is gone then i'm w huh?
    tear it down

so it looks like the Dodgers offered Seager 8/250 or 31.5 a year in an extension before last year
looks totally aggressive until you factor in the state tax and then you have a 75 million dollar divide
    fuck this state

@DMACLA Max Scherzer said watching his pitch count lowered his 'work capacity' and that he was 'compromised.' Scherzer clearly felt that he was mishandled by the Dodgers and doesn't look very happy about it. Doubt LA had a real shot to re-sign him after this.

I see Dodgers fans upset at Max for that statement but I love it. The first time a player has really called out Dave and a star on top of it. Dave deserves endless criticism
