I blame Roberts more for this than Vesia. HR, out, out, double. THAT's when you pull him. Did he really need to see another hit and walk before he realized that Vesia sucks?

And if it's because nobody was ready yet in the pen, that's on Dave too.

I just realized that Washington has had 10 base runners and not one steal attempt - haha. They must not have got the memo.

Good win against a bad team with some Davey drama in the middle. JD remained hot, FF remained scorching, and Gonsolin overcame a rocky start to pitch 6 solid innings. Barnes recorded another O-fer, and Vesia showed that he should've stayed in OKC. All-in-all, it's a win, and I'll take it.

Gonsolin survived six despite the low pitch count. Some good plays were made behind him and quite a few hard hit balls died on the track or found leather.

That said I would have liked him to start the 7th.

Vesia was interviewed by the house idiot on the pregame show. Said "he found it" in OKC. Looked like he left it there, too.

All you hear about these days is how the BP is over worked...so a guy goes out there who is cruising pretty damn well, efficient as hell after that shakey inning.
So, in Daveyworld, all the more reason to remove him.
The offense bales out his non- sensical button pushing time after time, if you really think about it.
Except at times when they don't, like in the Fall.

70 pitches thru six with a three run lead
if that’s not the time to extend a guy (homo), when is it?
    inexcusable
should have had gonsolin start the 7th
let him go until he allows a baserunner
    roberts is a fucken retard
how can you expect your starters to go deeper into games if you never let them?
    ugh

Right, and you definitely don't bring Vesia in with a lead of only three or less. If he let Gonsolin go the 7th, then it would be 6-1 and that's safe enough margin to at least start the 8th with Vesia. Would've probably allowed Phillips a rest day.

Kinda crazy when you look at the standings. There's really only two standout teams in the NL based on record and run differential... Dodgers and Braves. The Diamondbacks - surprise surprise - are clearly the third best team in the league, and then every other team is mediocre at best, including the Mets, Padres and Phillies. Who would've thunk it?

Anyhow, bringing this post back on topic... the Nationals are one of the lower-scoring teams. If Synergaard is going to show that he belongs in this starting rotation, he has to start against this offense. If he can't shut them down, how could he be expected to keep us in games against playoff-caliber teams?

Edit: my comment regarding the DBacks is only reflective of right now. I fully expect the Mets, Padres, and Phillies to make runs at some point this season.

What is the secret of a Dodger fail ?
    Bases loaded with no outs.
Oh, and Dave is 51 ?
Check out his birth certificate... might be a decade off. Oh, and get Barack's, too.
Guess Brusdar's luck ran out on him this time...because he sure wasn't good.
    Sucked, in fact.

trash ass losers. Lose to a completely shit team. Leave everyone and their mom on base. approach at the plate with men on base completely ass backwards. missing hittable pitches, chasing junk. a real offense would've scored 15 in this game.
