yeah we've forgotten how to swing the bats but that's when imagination comes in and we have zero of that
There is no way this team is catching the Giants. Just prepare yourself for an extra inning loss to the Padres in the WC game where we will finish the season 1-22 in extra inning games
Seriously the least clutch team I've ever seen. Lose every single game but when they win, they blow the doors off the opponent. They also lose every fucking time the Giants lose....the last time the Dodgers won on a day the Giants lost was July 24th. Pathetic.
Congrats guys @ESPNStatsInfo The Dodgers have now lost 11 straight extra-inning games. That's 1 shy of tying the longest such losing streak in a single season in MLB history. The 1969 Expos - an expansion team who lost 110 games - hold the record.
We basically need Kershaw to come back so we can move Julio to the bullpen. Now Julio has no business being in the bullpen, but when fraudman looks at our relievers at the deadline, sees Treinen, Kelly, and Nelson as the only reliable arms in it then does nothing to fix it despite the whole entire pen sucking the entire month of July besides those guys. Well, then this shit happens. Nelson goes down, only Kelly and Treinen are useful and we are fucked. Julio has to go back to the pen because we need him there more than we need him starting. It’s insane to say that but here we are
Jeez, that's terrible. This team has no pride, and that starts at the top. Well now that Trea is here, that should bump Pujols from starting anymore. I expected him to have a big game today against the Angels, but he came up virtually empty every time. I hope Mookie is in the lineup tomorrow.
Looks like Mookie is out until late September @BlakeHarrisTBLA Dave Roberts said there's a chance Mookie Betts is in the lineup tomorrow
Extra innings is a guranteed loss for this team. We're lucky the Gnats lost in extras today otherwise we're getting boat-raced for the West. Sometimes I feel the team is just in this mode of thinking that since the BP cannot hold a lead or prevent late inning damage, they might as well just try to swing for the fences and not manufacture runs. It's desperation mode. The anti-clutch. But if this is the case, I can't blame them because Roberts and the BP always does put the team in this dire situation. How many games have we lost late because of Robert's fate in Jensen for example? God, I can only shudder to think what Bochey could have done with this team.
No sightings of Halley's Comet anywhere...guess we'll have to wait until about 2052, by my reckoning. I wont see it, but by then Davey may be gone...but it's not a lock. I never believed we would win this game...not for a second. In fact, I think this upcoming series with the Mets and Phils will be devastating to us in the standings. Both good teams, and just another one of our chinks in the armor. Along with the extra inning hex, we don't have enough heart or leadership to beat +.500 teams. Both have better managers, not one's who will say " I have no clue why we can't win in extra innings"...and leave it to some cosmic glitch as the reasons. Sure, it may be Davey's truth, and his supporters will spout that as a plus because of his honesty, but it is an honesty borne of not having a fucking clue.
Last night had little to do with pitching. It was about failing to produce runs. They struggled to make solid contact last night. Mostly weak ass contact. Seager was especially bad.
and complete lack of imagination anyone who's ever managed anything knows that bad patterns develop and success requires looking for less obvious means of break through and if it was as easy as just calling a guy's number then every manager would be in the hall there is amazing talent on this team and i just get so tired of watching davey look around like "what happened" what happened is every team that scouts us knows exactly whats about to happen every single mother fucking time you moron
