If we face a LH, Skip and Ethier are better of sitting and Hairston or SVS CANNOT play in CF.
Also, a great arm is just as functional and important in CF as RF.
Besides, I don't recall wishing Ethier had a stronger arm.
With Ethier in there I'd put Puig in CF anyway actually. Speed is the thing for CF...but maybe he can't read the ball well enough yet. I haven't seen enough but he has taken a little strange routes even in RF.

Mattingley is getting hammered by Vin, Lyons, Kennedy and the fans now. Hard. And for the first time, it's legitimate. Don is terrible.

    disagree
the throw to third is longest from right which is why the strongest arm should go there
ethier doesn't have a bad arm, but puig's is clearly better
problem is we don't have a true center fielder on the active roster
but puig is playing well in right... why fuck with it if we don't need to?

Well, the throw home is farther in CF so there.
The throw to 1st is farther from CF.
Speed is more important in CF than it is in RF.
    I have 3 to your 1.
    and boom goes the dynamite!

It all doesn't matter when you score one run. You can't win. Maybe, if you're lucky, 15/20% of the time.

And it's still 2-1 for Fordie, and boom boom boom boom boom boom goes the dynamite.

I'm getting ready for the Paul Goldschmidt/Corbin adoration, and punishment by them and I guess the rest of their team, as we go in to this series as weaklings. A great pitcher on the mound tonight for us, with miniscule support...or none at all. Leave him in for 120 pitches DBB, make sure, now.
Now that Captain Puig is here, the odds change a bit, but the supporting cast is basically miserable, and the manager is as bad. His lineups are becoming a daily amusement in certain circles...a source of desparation on paper each night,
This series could really bury us, way deep.
Or elevate us, but we don't look ready for that.
We always find ways to lose.

if these fuckers really want a piece of the division, here's their chance to show it... man up and show up to the park to play... this is their best opportunity, a 3 game series against the division leader with their 3 best arms going... If they sweep, they can get 4.5 behind... LETS DO IT...

I'm all for a bit of optimism!!

And we do have our three best arms to give us their best shots. All three are under 2.00 ERA at home so this is our best chance...

Gotta score 3+ each game just to give them a fair chance

    Oh that? yeah... that..

Puig would have caught the ball Freeman hit even though I absolutely love Schumaker's effort. But then there is the threat of Puig's arm in RF that makes and will make the entirety of the majors wary of taking any extra bases, tough decision. I'm on board however that Yasiel should be batting clean-up which is what I have heard.

when a CF cuts balls of in either gap, the arm is a huge factor and that's a common play.

    Dynamite is blowing shit up!

a lineup that has Mark Ellis, Puig, Adrian and Ethier should score 3 runs... the problem is that DBB keeps his best secondary players benched... he needs to play Punto, Skip and SVS.

    Punto
    Ellis
    Adrian
    Puig
    SVS
    Ethier
    Skip

Good lineup but not sure Ethier is available. I also don't understand what you have at positions. Skip and Ellis in the IF is not going to work.

and when the rf cuts off that same ball in the right/center gap the throw is again longer
and yeah, that would be more common than the cf cutting the ball off in left/center and throwing to first
and never mind the fact that puig looks comfortable in right and would have to take time to learn center
if it ain't broke don't fix it is all i'm saying
