I'm down for sign making assist... as soon as I stop laughing... this was a hilarious series of posts... wow Thanks guys.

But what made it the best... was that Fordie offered the apology half way, and it was accepted, and then the thread moved along 'on topic'... THAT is what makes this place fun.

So special props to Ford for being a stand up guy. Class act brother!

And in light of this Kemp vs Trout topic if it boiled down to a single question "with a single roster spot who would you prefer in your line up?" then we boil down all sorts of stray stats and come to the core value of either player.

In my head I'd prefer Trout for a bunch of reasons that don't show up in WAR... like the Charlie Hustle at all times

But Ford was right in that I too don't see Trout pulling off a 40/40 season and that has long been one measure of greatness.

Of course Kemp was only close to that once... and Trout was 30/49 last year which ain't so shabby either... and is already at 25/33 this year. And FWIW Kemp was never close to 40/40 in any other year either... for that matter he's not even been close to 30/30 either. So he had a great year... one. Just in time for a contract negotiation.

(stat geek aside) Kemp's career #'s are 156Hr/162SB / 8 years is equal to or less than 20/20 lifetime; while Trout's career #'s are 60 HR/86SB / 3 years with a very short rookie year are much higher...

    traditional slashes for their careers...
Kemp pulls a .293/.350/.495 with OPS of .845 while
Trout pulls a .317/.406/.548 with OPS of .954

    well said cap
i think we all regret what happened
and no one should have to feel like they're walking on eggshells
laughter is sometimes the best medicine
if we can poke fun at ourselves/each other (without going over the line)
then i believe we can heal and move on
hell, we all have one common interest/denominator, and that's the dodgers
    just my :2cents:

In that case, I'd pick Trout. The great versatility of being able to bat leadoff or RBI/middle of the order is so awesome. I'd love to have a team so stacked that he would be my leadoff hitter. Not to mention he's far less expensive for now.

Just like most teams would love to be so stacked they can put Puig at leadoff like we do :D

I was thinking that...and Trout as a Dodger moves CC and Ethier off the roster in my fantasy.
I can only imagine how mad people would be if Trout was forced to play LF so Kemp could stay in CF. :sulk:

well, they were in the WS in 2010-11 so I wouldn't call that a collapse. but last year certainly was

True, but one could say the "collapsed" in the WS. ;)

That 2011 WS must've been horrid as a fan.

1 pitch away twice and then get smoked in game 7. Yeah.

    But 2010 was the worst.
