He's so cool under pressure. Very Fernando like. That to me is his strength..and luck. ;)

Yeah I feel like Ryu is a cool motherfucker and has a shitload of confidence. One of the reasons he's pitching above his scouting report as alot of people thought he was a backend guy. He still might be that long term but who knows

I gave Victorino the benefit of the doubt after being an annoying little fuck on the Phillies when he was traded to the Dodgers... He proceeded to hit .250 for us and was one of the many key reasons why that team didnt make the playoffs.

But seriously, who were we kidding last year with a roto that had Capuano, Harang, AND Blanton in it.

He gets out of situations so much with the double play which is cool cause it's worked but definitely scary. The thing that scares me the most about him is stamina considering its his first year in this type of pitching schedule. I think he can do it though, and it feels nice to have Nolasco behind him. But most def, having bills at 3 and Ryu at 4 woulda been silly good but injuries are a bitch

Just crossing my fingers Ryu is good to go all the way through

I like the gimmick this year, but come on; defending anything Victorino should be a permban.

By the way, I was in the minority when it came to trading for this mother fucker last year. All you cunts who wanted him in blue should have committed suicide. Ugly little Hawaiian fuck was bad in 2012, and was just as bad for us. Stupid, stupid, STUPID fucking trade. Assholes.

I think Ryu is a top end #3, and certainly better than Bills. He's got that mojo that Bills seems to lack. Sure he's not a power arm, and I think that's why people had tempered expectations when he was coming in, but it's really hard for scouts to project smarts, craftiness, and tenacity. Ryu is showing he's got a ton of all those things, along with pretty good stuff.

Part of the reason why the dodgers have been stringing together so many wins in bunches is because guys like Ryu (and Kersh and Grienke) don't get blown up in their bad starts. They manage to keep the team in the game even when they're off their games. To me, this is evidence of their fortitude and smarts to grind their way through games even when their stuff isn't there. I dont think Bills was great at this, and I dont think many #3s are in general. Ryu is special in that regard.

Getting out of a situation with double plays is good at the time and all. But there is slim difference between one of those grounders going to short, and one going into the outfield for 2 ribbies. It's hardly the greatest compliment IMO.

I'm a greedy MF, I know. But a Lee type pitcher plugged into the three slot completes this juggernaut.

I liked the Shane trade cause I thought he'd be good (I also thought he'd be playing CF cause of his value on defense but kemp wouldn't move but uh, that's a story for another day...) but the dude is just annoying as fuck. He sucked dick for us on offense and whined when we got Crawford, and now he's spouting out as a member of an annoying ass team.

I tend to agree, if I was basing it on a consistency basis. But man, the four innings Bills was on before his infamous blowouts (usually in the fifth) the guy was a different kind of filthy comparatively. I didn't really intend it to be a Bills vs Ryu, but before bills blew his elbow I really thought he was getting it together. He all but dropped the cutter, which was costing him many runs. I dunno, just thinking about it I honestly can't remember a single Ryu start lol. It's like the Tortoise and the Hare shit. Gets the job done cool and collectively, albeit never spectacularly.

With all that said about pitchers in the playoffs and being nervous and what not, we had Randy fucking Wolf start Game 1 of an NLDS we won, lmao. The playoffs are hilariously random and nerve wrecking... Cant wait to be back!

On the topic of Bills, I used to LOVE his and Weavers reactions to that fuckwit Torre wobbling out with a hook. A shocked look of "oh fuck off dickwad."

162 games of everything averaging out into a 7 game series... Maybe. But a fucking 5? Might as well toss a coin. So stupid (unless we win like 2008/2009).

Yup, it'd shorten the season and make it a 7 game playoff, with maybe that wild card playoff being 3 games and not 1. I'd eat my fingers off if we were in that 1 game wild card playoff game

Statistically speaking, Ryu is putting up better numbers this year than Bills did in ANY of his seasons. Not just ERA and WHIP, but QS% too. Ryu is giving us QS in 75% of his starts. Bills was 63% in his best year.

While we've yet to see Ryu in the playoffs, I'm thinking he's going to be less likely to shrink under the bright lights like Bills did. We shall see though.

Is their #1 food cock? Because that's pretty much all Victorino eats.
