    I'm obviously missing something on the Quintana fear...I know the guy has a lot of Ks...absolutely.
    But his ERA is 4.5+, his record is meh, and has given up 23 HRs...why doesn't that make me shiver in me Doc Martin's?
    Guess I didn't do my homework about him, because the fear is universal...so what is it then?

    Yeah he wasn’t that good this year but was pretty good in the later months with the Cubs. He’s really tough on lefties, which means it’ll be tough at bats for Seager/Bellinger. It’ll be important for the righties to do damage.

    So the Cubs had some issues on their plane and had to stop in New Mexico..all told, a 10 hour trip from Virginia to LA.
    That said, still better not sleep on them.
    As they say, a wounded animal is the most dangerous

    I think I wrote that the we know what the regular season means but hey not important. Considering that the Cubs are basically the same team that they were last year I'd have a little more fear of them.

    It has been a huge bitch for us in our previous NLCS losses.

    Joe Blanton's terrible pitch to Montero, Heartbreaker in 13 to St. Louis, Derek Lowe's 2 r HR to Utley in 08, and George Sherrill giving up a 3 r HR bomb to Ibanez in 2009 after being lights out for us

    Kershaw on the mound with plenty of rest. No excuses.

    doors are probably my favorite band of all time
    remember sitting in the car w/my brother while my mom shopped, listening to the radio, when the dj said something to the effect of "this is the radio debut of a song from an la band named the doors"... think it was light my fire, but i was only 8ish so i can't say for sure
    they had a sound like no one else -- bluesy but also edgy

    another la band i loved, about 15 years later, was x
    (the minutemen and flesheaters too, but i digress)
    saw x about 15 times at the whiskey alone
    blue spark should have been the dodgers theme song, but those were different times

    yeah i was real critical of how early maddon brought him in
    but like you said, he left it all out there
    and afterwards while being interviewed seemed very humble and (almost) unaffected

    All the same players, but half the team playing the same as last year and the other half playing worse. Meanwhile we are considerably better than last year. Night and day really for us. I fear them because it's baseball... but I fear them the same as I would the Marlins or Pirates.
