God we are going to be stuck with these guys! Ellis, Uribe, Cap, Harrang, Rivera, etc. And for what? To still finish 3rd place? New owner comes in and has to clean up the scrubs?
I'm right there with you. I don't understand the way we spend our money either. Why don't we just take all the money we have used in FA, and actually sign two guys who can make a real impact?
good news gillick says hed come here. hopefully it starts with throwing out the trash known as flanders and hires kim ng.
Kershaw Billingsly Lilly Harang Capuano Evaldi Eveland That's a steady deep rotation that's horrible for the post season. The trade deadline with new ownership might remedy that, but I'm pretty sure that rotation can keep us in playoff contention until then as long as Loney & Ethier rise to past success.
fuck ned why must he give him 2 years? if he says no to 1 year, say fuck you and go to someone who will take 1 im sick of ned. why cant they just fire him today and have an interim GM in time for the new owner to do what he pleases
Fucking incredible, and this is why Ned fucks over Logan and our scouting dept. all the time, with stupidity like this
Really? That's interesting and very damn sad...I smell the reeking Torreffic odor of the HoF manager of recent past; he taught his disciple well- this Donnie BB. Only part of a season was gone...and a real talent is now losing so much, so soon? Imagine if he was a manager who knew how to bring along a pitcher the right way and not immediately overused him? Especially a guy his size who throws like he does? Imagine? Why, we may have had him for much of this year....what would have an effective Rubby given us? Oh well, Fuck him. This is a Torre/Mattingly/ NYY type team now, and that's how we do it these days. Tough shit if you want guys brought along slowly....if they are not all horses like Clayton is, and can't keep up like he can and did...fuck 'em. Right Joe? Uh, I mean, Donnie?
no, cant blame donny for that look at the nats. they babied strasburg and he still had TJS Rubby's was just a freak thing and ned said a while ago he could be back in july
A lot of the problem comes from how these kids have been coddled since little league. The complete game has become the exception rather than the rule.
Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal #Dodgers still working on Harang. Deal expected to be north of Capuano. Two years, $12M range. #MLB Padres decline his 5 million dollar option, we exceed it!
Actually he declined his option not the other way around so he was looking for this type of money and he and his agent got it. Dodgers GM Ned Colletti told ESPN's Jim Bowden that a deal for Aaron Harang is not yet complete. Bowden heard from a source Monday afternoon that an agreement had been reached, but negotiations are apparently ongoing. Harang, 33, is said to prefer the West Coast and may be granting the Dodgers a slight discount because of that stance. He posted a 3.64 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 170 2/3 innings in 2011 for San Diego.
oh my god, that is fucking terrible. we could have signed Pujols by now couldn't we? someone do the math I'm too mad to do it
We have conflicting reports. Aaron Harang declined his $5 million mutual option for 2012. Harang, 33, posted a 3.64 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 170 2/3 innings this season. His ERA was skewed given how woeful he was on the road (4.70 ERA, 1.65 WHIP), but he'll try to parlay those good-looking overall numbers into a multi-year deal this offseason.
