    awesome
    • Max Muncy has suffered a setback in his recovery from a right rib-cage strain. The Dodgers third-baseman said he felt a “twinge” in his rib cage while taking batting practice in Arizona during the Dodgers’ last trip and has been shut down indefinitely from most baseball activities.

"He'll only be out for a few days" is the kiss of death for Dodger players.

Very shaky part of the schedule, imo.

Glasnow vs. Skenes would have been such a fun matchup.

Skenes will likely go 7 innings and k 21 guys.

Skenes vs Kaylor would have the most predictable outcome in history.

Anyone else nervous that the Yankees are going to beat the ever living shit out of us this weekend? Judge/Soto are nuts and the Yankees as a team have looked incredible.

I know that this series will be difficult too but I am really dreading the trip to NY.....those interleague games vs Boston/NYY always mean a little more to me

Yeah, I already posted it. The Yankees are on fire...blazing along. The Pirates have our number most times, even when they sucked.
We have looked like hardly more than an average team against meh and below teams like the Reds and Rockies. Nothing top shelf at all. Hope I'm really wrong.
Over/under on how many times "Pete Rose" is mentioned during the Pirates series...?

Answering your question honestly... In the past I would've been more nervous, but not so much this time. Really it's a combination of a couple factors. I've come to accept that inevitably all Roberts-led teams will underachieve, if not now, for sure in the postseason. And secondly, I just have a need this year to protect my psyche from major disappointment, so I don't get as excited anymore when they win which means I won't be down as much when Scarecrow happens.

Give me Aaron Boone any day (wow, racist). At least he'll fight for his players.

I totally understand. The constant failures on the big stage with Roberts have definitely killed off a lot of my joy in being a fan because we all know what is going to happen in the playoffs.

Agree completely on Boone. A lot of Yankees fans give him a hard time but he will be the first person to defend his players and call out a shitty umpire. Roberts will just stand there with his arms crossed and a blank stare on his face.

I want to smack Dave in the back of his head every single time I see "Taylor" in the lineup.

In 16 at bats, Vargas has 3 extra base hits and a .857 OPS.

In 74 at bats, Taylor has 1 extra base hit and a .343 OPS.

I don't know if Vargas will turn out to be a good MLB player but I do know that benching him for Chris Taylor is a crime and shows that Dave values loyalty over winning.

And more pathetic ... if he goes 0fer, 'TayTay is pressing but he's due to breakout!" will be his retort; if he runs into one, we'll hear, 'I knew TayTay was bound to find his groove!'

Scarecrow is as predictable as sunrise when it comes to his stupefying thinks...

Not only that, but God forbid if Pages is allowed to build on his recent momentum. Yesterday was a day off, does he really need two?

And Vargas has been roping even into some fouls and outs. Not only is his OPS better than Flailor's, but he's also not giving the opposing pitcher easy outs.

If I'm pitching to Ohtani and I've got 2 strikes on him, I'm throwing a pitch out of the zone, 6 nches outside. Guaranteed he swings at it, and misses it badly 90% of the time.
    Lock.
    Oh, and everybody knows...
