The mishap happened during Wednesday's game against the Braves when left-hander Adam Liberatore was warming up in the bullpen and threw a ball that hit Baez in the back of the head. "We're doing tests right now, so he was down [for the night]," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Baez's status in the wake of the incident. "I talked to him, and he seems OK. It hit him square in the back of the head." Baez was one of only two Dodgers relievers not to appear in a 5-3 victory over the Braves in 10 innings. The team does not figure to know Baez's availability until Thursday morning. "It wasn't a full 90 [mph]-plus fastball, but it was still [Liberatore] getting loose and airmailed one and hit him in the back of the head," Roberts said. The situation went undetected during the game, and Roberts was asked afterward if there was a plan to use Baez at any point Wednesday. That is when he revealed the incident. "Hopefully tomorrow he responds," Roberts said. The Dodgers' bullpen covered 6⅓ innings Wednesday in relief of rookie Ross Stripling, but with staff ace Clayton Kershaw pitching Thursday, the relievers will probably have a chance to rest. "It was just a grind for Ross today," Roberts said. "But to see the bullpen come out and pick him up, it was a big win for us."

Idk what my thought on Wood is. The jury's still out on him. We'll see come June/July if he's still awesome at home and garbage on the road.
My thoughts on Wood is that he can be as shitty as he wants to be, so long as Stripling is picking up the slack. Expectations when they traded for him are one thing. However, most recently he came into this season battling for a shot at the 5 spot until Anderson and Bolsinger went down. Usually when a veteran guy is battling just to barely crack the rotation, expectations aren't all that high, so that's how I watch his games now, not expecting much, so his performances don't drive me crazy. If he comes around, cool, if not he'll pitch himself out of the rotation and Bolsinger will eventually nab his spot. The trade was bigger than just him anyway, Peraza eventually flipped for young players in higher regard and Avilan is solid.
that unorthodox motion with all those moving parts probably doesn't help this team would be so much better with a healthy ryu problem is we've got a bunch of back of the rotation guys kersh/maeda/ryu/stripling/anderson would be a lot better than what we're currently fielding really curious to see what, if anything, mehcarthy can contribute
