    I never really thought about it, but it is sort of weird how an 11 year old character is played by someone who is 17 years old and sings like she's 45.

    I saw an interview a few years back with Ray Bolger or Bert Lahr... I don't remember which one. But they said the Lion costume weighed nearly 100 pounds. The Tin Man had to have lunch fed to him through a straw laying on his back, and Judy Garland had to have her breasts taped down. Sounds like a fun set.

    Plus Margaret Hamilton (witch) went ablaze and was burnt pretty severely.
    Hospitalized...all kinds of weird stuff happened while filming. There's a book about it.
