Infuriating. Everyone is out in front, and the guy hasn't throw a pitch over 87mph since the 1st inning.
Stays with Cody and Pollock and sits Taylor who at least, has a shot at hitting a ball...the offense has been shit, a low scoring, tentative, lineup. This isn't the fucking Dbacks or Rockies, Dave...or even Milwaukee...can't play it the same. Embarrassing legacy for the first match up ever...
Fitting that we trail the series 1-0. Spent the whole season trailing these guys and hoping to be even with them....
The Dodger offense has been hot and cold all year long, never at a steady state. The math is pretty clear. LA has to win 2 straight games to have a chance. They need tomorrow and the next one at home. Can't believe we're losing to this hodge podge of a team.
Well, when the guy who didn't play Taylor for even one second gets up there on TV and says "one good swing after bad season ( which overall it certainly wasnt) can erase everything that came before", then which is it ? The lineup after Smith was weak and useless, poorly put together, and Cody having an historically horrendous season isn't erased either, nor is Pollock and his well established multiple zeroes in Dodger post seasons. I guess it only counts with Taylor...
The guy that said that on isn't going to run down his players in public, nor should he, especially a player like Taylor. Pollock was as steady a hitter as they had this year. He's not about to be benched, especially with the limited options behind him. Have to hope he puts his postseason struggles behind him.
Losing is bad enough, but to go down without a fight and getting walked over is unforgivable, but that seemed in the cards last night. Ironic that all the vitriolic hatred and accusations and slurs we can come up with towards them, we are the ones that played like femme bitches, not them. If we're going down, then at least do it fighting... Julio, Dodger Nation turns it's lonely eyes to you...gotta earn this split tonight...
I was convinced to go to a Braves-Pirates game 2 years ago and Gausman was starting the game and looked awful. His era entering the game was really bad and the Pirates tee'd off on him while Braves fans boo'd him. I think he got DFA'd a week or two later and here he is starting game 2 of the NLDS for a 107 win team. This sport is something else
We didn't lose because of the ump but this isn't surprising at all 3 worst calls all to Dodgers hitters
We didn't lose because of the umps, and we didn't lose because of Buehler (although he certainly didn't help matters). We lost because the Gnats best pitcher down the stretch threw a gem. If we win tonight, it's a best of three series with home field advantage. Not saying I get Davey's loyalty to Bellinger - he's a huge week spot in the lineup. But both Gausman and DeScalfini are beatable. Our bats need to show up tonight, and it's a whole new series.
