Good news is Kershaw looked like his old self after a rocky start. Bad news is the lack of a clutch hit and some Bad News Bears defense. Looked like Taylor wanted to see how far he could throw the ball. No excuse for lax Lux on the Marte ground ball. The fly ball that fell in was obviously miscommunication between Mookie and Lux. Shouldn't be happening in Sept.
I was disgusted with the whole team and the bar they been playing under for a while now. Truly nauseating...I threw up all over the screen. Their focus seems pretty shattered.
Their heads have been up their asses for about a week now. Not completely unexpected given their huge lead.
True enough. Great man said ... the best thing for a comfortable man is a bit of hunger, poverty, and suffering to get him focused. This team is baseball's best. But maybe they need a ten game losing streak and blown HFA to teach them something about what champions are.
Agree. But, quite honestly, although a favorite flaggelant of mine, this is the realm of Dave Roberts. One thing he could by savvy at, wallowing in his level of dullard mediocrity season after season, is to keep them focused. As Finski has written, he, born under the most fortunate of stellar alignments, this one moment of glory, affirmative action poster boy, could at least do that. For what he's had in his arsenal from the get go, to what he's got now, considering the ultimate results of his tenure at LA, he's middling personified.
