One thing I agree with ESPN (rare). In order to put the losing streak behind them, they have to show up and win on the road and the series against the Nats. Sweep would be nice.
My good luck song for the Nats series ... it was playing when Kenley struckout Posey and Hundley Tuesday night ... I'll try it again this weekend...
Hoping Clayton can get his ERA under 2. Max has outperformed him by most objective metrics and volume but I'd still like it to be close.
With you. this has always been a fortuitous song !! Yo oh Black Betty ram a jamma, Black Betty don't lie rama jamma
OK I'm wrong.. slightly Contacted the stats geeks/gods over at baseball-reference.com about the watched v. swinging strikeouts and today received an email reply with a link.. https://www.baseball-reference.com/...hes-batting.shtml#players_pitches_batting::27 We suck at watching strike 3's but we're 'only' 4th worst in the MLB, behind the Brewers, Madres and dBags. 333 of them v. league average of 279. KC Royals have only 197 We're near mid pack on strikeouts swinging FYI
baker changed the pitching matchups game 1 still the same but he put aj cole in for game 2 and slid strasberg back to game 3 and no gio gonzalez -- who's pretty much owned us (link) on paper it doesn't make a lot of sense, but would appear to favor us
Well, it looks and sounds like no one gives us a chance against the Nats. Makes winning this series all the more important. Btw, the Card's Martinez is now pitching against the Cubs with purple hair. Indeed. Purple. And somehow, Fernando Rodney's douchebag Bazooka Joe cap tilt is infinitely more annoying to me.
I like Wood's start tonight. He's not having velocity issues, but instead of being the 'streak breaker' like he was three times in that awful stretch, he can just go out there and pitch his game. We'll all know what sort of night he'll have after about ten pitches. If he gets most of them over for strikes, and keeps it down, I think he can beat the Nats hitters. I especially like the lineup's chances to get to Edwin tonight. He's lugged out and tired and his fastball and breaking ball aren't snapping off. Of course, he may decide he's Cy Young just for tonight, but if LA takes only one game this weekend, I like tonight's game.
who's that? Harold Reynolds? The Dodgers have the best record in MLB. We fans can rip them and agonize as much as we want. It is a defense mechanism. But the national media can eff off. 3 bad weeks and we are toast to them.
No actually, not Reynolds. Everyone else. And yes, they can eff off. And then they can fuck off. And then suck elephant dick. Just reporting...
