Mattingly appeared uncomfortable with the line of questioning. Asked if he considered designating Guerrero the starting third baseman and turning Uribe into his late-game defensive replacement, Mattingly responded with a question of his own, asking what he should do with utility man Justin Turner, who batted .340 last season.

"Where does J.T. fit in your plan?" Mattingly snapped. "Does he not play? Should he not start and then somebody come in for him? I know the people are chanting for Alex right now, but there's other guys, too, that probably have swung the bat better. J.T. hits .340 last year, leads the league in hitting, basically. Now, because he's not the flavor of the day, we start talking about somebody else.

JT lead the league in hitting? Really? With only 322 at bats?
He is called a "utility man" for a reason Dum Dum. Guerrero have never been given that label.

And ginger is never going to be a flavor of the month.

I know certain posters are against moving Joc to the top of the order, put I would go:
CF Joc
RF Puig
1B Gonzalez
2B Kendrick
SS Rollins
LF Crawford
P Greinke
3B Urine
C Grandal
If Guerrero were in the everyday lineup like he should be it would be so simple just to move him to the #5 spot. As opposed to some thinking it would be bad for Joc's confidence, it should help him see more pitches to hit.

Joc isn't ready to lead off yet and I think Rollins should be the lead off hitter.
I agree that Alex would be perfect in the five hole.

Since Dum Dum refuses to give in to the Guerrero idea, try:

Rollins
Joc
Gonzalez
HK
Puig
C.C./Dre
Grandal
Pitcher (if Kersh or Grainkey)
Urine - ugh


The main concern is that Joc isn't making enough contact at this point.

 

Wieland is expected to start game three.

I wonder if Donnie Dum Dum and all his wisdom will push Grainkey out another day and skip him in game three vs the Giants next week.

With Dum Dum running the show, it could be Howell or Hatcher (Bullpen day like Spring Training.)
