Bench players are called bench players for a reason. Apart from Chase and Howie, and Ethier and whomever platoons, players should play where they play. Joc is our centre fielder, Corey our SS, pick a fucking player in left and let him play more than one game there, then maybe there can be some production. It's fucking annoying, if I paid for that trash today, I'd be pissed. Day games after night games is a great time to rest players. This mixing and matching shit can't be doing anyone any good. It's June, the lineup should be constant, the near-everyday team should be constant. This is some Mickey Mouse shit and I'm fucking sick of it.
Nerd tweakers upstairs + rookie skipper = multiple shutouts against nobody pitchers. When will these fucking idiots with their laser dot placements learn?
Sorry Darth. But if the nerds had any sway with the line up, they would have booked this one (and yesterday's, and the day before she) into an abortion clinic.
LMAO! You really think they don't say shit to doc? Come on.................. Pass me some of that N Zed shit, it's goooooooood!
There are honestly no statistics of any kind to make these lineups plausible. I really wish they would interfere more after this series. Something like "hey, this guy gets on base at a really good clip, let's put him up the order" would be a fucking Godsend.
okay i turned the game off after the rockies scored so fucken frustrated with roberts decision making you have liberatore ready with a lefty (descalso) coming up but you keep maeda up and first pitch... and then you bring liberatore in to face a righty?
Is there one for paying 22 million dollars for Alex Wood and Jim Johnson? Nerds are their own biggest fans on a planet of 3.
At the game last night the devil and I both shared the same feeling like they were losing, up by 2 for most of the game.
I think he kept him in because he wanted to give him the W...only the short end of the stick for him if he pulls him. But leaving him in and giving up the hit, worked out that way anyway. I guess he wants to be known as a players manager maybe. No one expects to score zero runs against a guy like Rusin. Turner and Kike were abomnible last night. As you watch one bum after another fuck up in their own unique flaccid way, one wonders what the fuck is the hitting coach is doing to correct glaringly obvious, very poor approaches AB. Spectacularly bad. Wtf is Kike trying to be? And Turner swinging at ball 4 with bases full? Foul it off to the right again, ginger. When this shit continues on, you consider that it is a slump, and will stop, sooner or later...but the overall offensive approach we see week after week, imo, is what we have become. It's what we are these days. As written above, we are a team now, that regularly gets shut out by one scrub or another; an accurate and sadly, so true statement of fact.
No, they don't. It's completely obvious that they don't. Some of these lineups are so "anti-sabr" it's painful.
He definitely should have left Urias in with a chance to win the night before. Felt almost as un natural as pulling Strip from his no no. Devil and I jokingly predicted it then were life WTF when he actually did it.. Doc stepped on his dick a few times in that one.
You may be seeing it a bit narrow. The FO manages the organization as a whole and not just the game. The manager is picked to carry out the will of the FO. Im sure they speak with him about what the plan is and he carries it out. He knows who to play and when where and how to play them because he knows what the FO wants. In sure they send him series and game and possibly situation specific intructions as needed but i doubt its that micromanaged on a day by day basis. Dave probably has been told that Justin needs to play because the tram needs him to find his stroke again. He is their type of player. They can live with his bad bat as long as he gets on base. Plus him having a subpar statistical season is good for the FO come contract time. Same with playing lineups that arent pro sabr. That is another non issue as sabr doea not rule lineups. You take sabr information to make lots of decisions. If a guy is bad vs lefties and sabr tells you that you know have valuable info wit which to make a choice. Do i sit him in favor of a better lefties hitter or do i let him bat to see if the lefty hitting training is kicking in or can giving him some reps against this lefty allow him some needed reps to help develop him into a better all around hitter? Lots of options for the FO and manager. Sabr info is just that. Data. Urias will cost a lot of money down the line. Limiting his innings this year will give the team an extra year of control on the cheap. And it will be a year that will be worth a lot more to the team and the FO as he would presumably be a star pitcher by then. Boras is his agent. And he also wants Urias handled with care as he is a big mealticket. So a lot of these moves that dont appear sabr friendly are non issues. You dont run the org by sabr but you use the measuring rod as a tool to help make decisions. Those that forget the tool is for their benefit and are instead ruled by the tool are essentially just proxies for the tool and end up as just another tool. The FO know this. Some Sabr fans and sabr detractors probably dont.
Haha yeah as far as the reports I read, the Reds were fixated on Peraza and he was the main part they wanted in the deal
And Peraza has been meh ever since making the jump to AAA in 2015 Meh for now 3 different orgs' AAA squads Calhoun is shittin on him
