We play Colorado, a team that has put on a run and is only 5 back in the wildcard race, and the Gnats play a shitty Phillies team. We cannot give in to the Rockies. We cant let the Gnats extend. I'm worried about the next few days. I want to be wrong. Hell, I'll say it. I'm wrong. We're gonna sweep the Naughts and the Gnats are gonna regress to the assholes they are (pun intended).
MadBum gave up 5 I believe to the Phils at home. Philly can score a ton of runs so hopefully we win 2 and the Gnats burn up their pen. Philly has been streaky, early on they won a lot of games on the road and very few at home but that has reversed a little. Having wrote this the bats have been absent lately. Here's hoping for a gnat let down!!!
I think my realistic lineup tomorrow against Gray, who has been great, would be: Reddick RF Seager SS Turner 3B Adrian 1B Howie LF Grandal C Utley 2B Joc CF P Maybe switch Grandal and Howie if you wan't to split up the lefties a bit. Really like the idea of Reddick leading off with his contact/walking skills
This is going to be a real interesting series. I'm intrigued to see how the team responds as they got the reinforcements they were pining for. The lineup will be a bit more dangerous top to bottom, but of course they are facing a LHP on Wednesday who has been really good
I like how you split up Yaz and Joc, those two need to be separated at all times. A strong AB like Chase's in between them looks good. I would go with a bit more balance top to bottom and stretch it out, push JT and Adrian back a spot and on down the line, make Reddick as comfy as possible, he literally has 10 plate appearances out of 2,767 in the leadoff spot. Chase Corey Reddick JT Adrian Yaz Howie Joc I like your order too, though, feels great to have options.
Chase Seager Turner Reddick AGon Kendrick Grandal Joc Just writing that, I realize how lefty heavy we are now, my lord. I hope we find another Ruggiano steal.
you know what's exciting? all the options we suddenly have with reddick added to the lineup the possibilities are almost limitless
Yeah I like that Reddick isn't just a good hitter, but also a bat control guy. We have enough guys swinging for the fences, Reddick is in that Howie mold, but better. We needed a true power bat, but we also needed this kind of hitter as well. And he really handles power pitching well...the ultimate need for this lineup come playoff time. .305/.354/.424 against power arms. Sort of made up for not signing Alex Gordon here.
Yaz and Joc need to be split at all times? We're so fucking entitled now haha. Back in '06 Nomar and JD Drew were the only ones to reach 20 dingers. Our CF and catcher are going to reach those power numbers? Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Disaster.
What I'm saying is, back the fuck up already. Joc and Yaz hitting like they are isn't really a problem. I would wager they are actually above average with the bat in their positions, and that's not taking defence into account.
Is this correct...? That the FO expects Hill to possibly make a start for them within " the next few weeks"? Are they kidding? The next few weeks...gtfo.
And what I was saying had to do with fit, not them being poor hitters for their positions or whatever the fuck you're talking about. Fit meaning those 2 go entire games sometimes without having 1 solid AB, and then some games the opposite. They're good, but they're mercurial. When you have them back to back and they're in sync on the negative side, that's usually when LAD has a load of runners left in scoring position.
The FO are the ones who reported it, supposedly. So he has a blister, then the projection doesn't jive. That's what I don't get...but thanks for the sarcastic info on the arm.
"A few weeks" is unacceptable, imo. You can't trade decent pieces for a guy who who's not only a rental, but will miss 3 starts in August. He needs to be back right away.
