It's an odd year next year, so wait until 2018.

We actually really need a guy like this in the organization.
The reason some teams do great is that they develop these no name career minor leaguers into dudes who can come in and produce for a year or even more. They have dudes that may not be prospects or may have at one time been prospects but who get their shot when some big name goes down.
The Giants do this all the time and its part of the reason why they excel.
A great farm system is not just about your prospects. Its about all the other guys that help your prospects develop by showing them professionalism or other learned and improvable skills.
We signed another SS who has been doing great with Tulsa and in OKC since he came to the team early in the year.
Drew Maggi. But with this trade his opportunity might be gone.

Maggi is listed at 3rd on the Tulsa web page. The trade was made in part due to the fact we don't have a true SS on our roster except for Corey.

If he gets to the Show, and rakes, it will be The Gift of the Maggi.
Not enough Italians in the system anyway. Too mamy names ending in consonants.
    Thank God for Maeda.
    Libatore doesn't count...pronounces it like a douche.

It's too bad this pick didn't work out for us. I always felt they didn't give him a legit shot at the major league level, with guys like Bolsinger, Frias, Stripling, and now Urias getting a real chance to show what they have while Lee stayed down. And for a while his AAA numbers were solid. Perhaps the brass saw something outside of the numbers that convinced them he wouldn't make it at this level (I know his velocity, for example, wasn't all that impressive). Anyhow, in the end you win some and you lose some. So we didn't trade him while he still had high prospect value. You know which other prospect we didn't trade? Kershaw. Some work out... some don't. That's just a risk you have to accept. Not saying we should never trade a prospect. It's just based on what the team's greatest needs are. Back then we needed Lee to develop into a future major league starter. Now, as someone mentioned, there are other prospects ahead of him on the depth chart. I bet he regrets not playing football for LSU. I wonder what kind of QB he would've made.

Taylor is an improvement over Culberson and insurance in case Enrique continues to be bad. Not exciting but cool I guess , didn't have much hope for Lee in any role

the taylor kid well be a basec utility player when ever make it to the show. Or if he can make the show. It isn't easy by any means. lord knows I tried. Best luck to him and to lee who might feel lesser pressure playing in another organisation.

Too bad he was looking at Taylor's package when he made the comment.
