Last thing I think I wanna say about last night cause what else can you say is: we’ve had lots of losers and choking moments over the years. From Kershaw to Cody to Dave to Mattingly to Darvish to Puig to Adrian yada yada

all of those dudes have in some form after the game accepted blame, given a cliche quote of needing to learn and work from it, given insight to thought process, but actually seemed human and relatable, at a minimum after it

Kenley yesterday, during a postseason where they lost trust and then he came back looking good and used his couple good outings to stare into the dugout menacingly, comes out and deflects all fucking blame and spouts bullshit after bullshit. It doesn’t change anything if he’s remorseful it honestly doesn’t but it does make it a million times easier to hate the dude

Only way I want Kelly out there is with a clean inning. His lack of command is scary.

No defense for bases on balls.

notice how uncharacteristically upset roberts got at games end last night?
usually he'll try and spin some positive onto it
but then he went with "i can't believe we botched that play" and, essentially, shit on his players (particularly smith and taylor) and gave kenley a free pass
but here's what i saw... he wasn't upset that his team lost the game
he was upset that they lost it for kenley
he wanted so badly for kenley to be absolved of his past failures and, more than anything, HE wanted to be proven right for forcingbringing kenley into the game
you could see what was happening an inning before...
when smoltz and buck were quoting roberts, saying how "kenley looked better that last outing than he had in years"
sounds like an abused wife trying to justify staying with their abusive spouse
you cannot manage based on emotion
    you cannot have favorites
you cannot treat someone better than they deserve
kenley is an entitled spoiled cunt
otherwise he would have backed up home plate (baseball 101 btw) and taken at least some accountability
kenley is a douche and a horrible teammate
but by treating him like he's something he's not (i.e. capable) you're giving him a false sense of security
in kenley's case that turns to entitlement
as much as i despise kenley, this is not all on him
you cannot continually put someone in a position to fail
    this is mostly on roberts
    fuck both of them

i will not commit another 3+ hours to watching this trainwreck
i'll be playing golf at 5pm, and then coming home to watch around 6:30-7pm
and, oh yeah... thanks for making my turner jersey vulnerable roberts
    go fuck yourself

But, it’s a new day and it’s up to the players tonight: bounce back from last night, gain all momentum again. Rays will only win if you choke away plays and lose momentum. You’re still the better team. Make the win easy and out of anyone else’s hands. A comfortable lead and it doesn’t matter what Kershaw or anyone else does. Simple as that! They’re gonna need it cause there’s honestly no great answer down there to get comfortable high leverage outs so the solution is: give no high leverage spots

Kenley Jansen is the guy who threatened to quit when the organization wanted to convert him to a pitcher. He's the guy who prevented off-season and mid-season trades for prime Kimbrel+Chapman type relievers because his feelings were hurt. He bailed on off-season workouts with Mariano. He's the guy who never takes sincere accountability for his failures. He hasn't been good for 3 years. He's a joke. And the Dodgers treat him like a hall of famer.

Hardest hit ball of the inning was the line out to LF.

Genuinely feel awful going into the game today. I still just can't believe how we allow ourselves to blow games like this.

I'm very worried that we are now going to get the Kershaw who puts too much pressure on himself to be perfect.

I don't feel good about the game tonight, but I hope to everything I am wrong.

especially gnat fans i fucking hate it
was thinking of having to deal w the whole "its not a real championship" thing but that was the only thought i honestly had about truly winning it this year
i mean its always up to the players ultimately but you've got to put them in a position to do what they can do
kenley could have come in after treinen and baez or someone that's not cursed could have closed it
why does there have to be this insipid order w toomgis on top?
he plays everything by the numbers except that part of the game

Last night's loss has brought me closer to you guys mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and sexually than I ever thought possible. Maybe that was Dave's strategy? Go blue!

Amazing he publically stated that he "doesn't feel the need to name a closer", but when a WS game was on the line, he sure went with the guy named Kenley Jansen.
Btw, this is most likely old news to LA, but Roberts also admitted he mishandled Baez last night.
    Thanks Dave...what a guy.

One of my few posts in a long time.
Not saying who is at fault for last nights debacle.
I will only say the names of people on the field or making decisions included:
    Baez
    Jenson
    Roberts

Aren't they previously associated with major failures?

However we have a fresh face coming to the rescue unscarred by previous miscues.

A young phenom named Clayton Kershaw alias Deja Vu Clayton!

Please say it won't be so.

This is the game tonight. It kills me that we have said this SO many times before, but this is the game where Clayton needs to step up and pitch like the GOAT.

If he can dominate tonight, it genuinely flips the script on his post-season struggles. I think we all would be happy to forgive him for all the times he has let us down in the past. If not, it forever cements his legacy as a serial choker when the team needs him most. I don't know that I will ever look at him the same, regardless of all of his success in the regular season.
