Those TV closeups were painful. God broke his ugly stick on poor Ronald.

Wouldn't think a pen game would be a recipe for success against good team like Seattle, especially one "featuring" Treinen and Scott.

Old times sake shouldn't be enough for Treinen to make the postseason roster. Love the guy (manly way), but he's shot. I'd give Klein his spot on the roster.

Not sure whether to be encouraged by the way Scott handled Arozarena and Suarez or to still be wary of the way he pitched the rest of the inning.

Everyone but Scott and Treinen pitched well.

Alfred E Sasaki took a dump on The Dumper. Impressive. He's earned his playoff roster spot.

October Kike checked in a few days early. Some nice plays in the field, too.

    Nice win.
However, we have NO ONE at the end of the game. Whoever they bring in of Trenen, Scott is a recipe for post season disaster.
Need outstanding luck with either/ both of these guys...it's literally a joke with these two. No confidence..
There's alternatives possible, with starters going to the pen, but nothing established.
Guess he'll be winging it and hope for the best.
Not exactly time for experimentation...but actually, it will be. Lucky with the stupid lineup last night, too.
I worry about his hunches and the " I felt good with Treinensy at that time" things. . Treinen looks scared, imo. Scott looks...well you know.

disagree on leaving Treinen off since he actually appears close to me
dude will stand in the fire and burn to his hip throwing that whiffle ball
he looks erratic until he doesn't and then he's nearly unhittable
like playoff Kike he'll be there but scott is most certainly afraid and that can't fly

I don't understand why either CK or Shohei don't close. Depending on L/R upcoming matchups in a given 9th innings, Kershaw would be great and Sho can pitch to any lineup.

I realize putting Sho in takes him out of the lineup; but if Blake/Tanner continue to shit the Sealy, no amount of 10th or 11th inning offense will save the team from losing in 9 innings.

Also ... three starters is enough for the playoffs. Use Yamamoto, Snell, & Glasnow and damn the torpedoes. Sasaki, Dreyer, Wrob, etc. are legit enough to hold leads. If Yates, Blake or even Scott pitch to 3 hitters and get replaced ... welp, that's life.

Anyway ... I'm all pissed off since I don't think LA can beat Philly or Milwaukee. They should crush them but with Scarecrow at the helm, I expect failure.

I'm all for CK relieving, but something about his arsenal doesn't feel right in the closer role. I guess I feel the closer should have a fastball higher than 90. Also, seems sometimes it takes a couple batters before he finds his curve.

Ohtani could close, depending on the situation. If we're confident that he can hold a lead, then it doesn't matter that he's out of the lineup. Only other challenge is getting him into the BP to warm up while his spot in the order is potentially coming up.

    Can Emmett close?

Of course. Your angle is dead/solid/perfect. I forget how CK doesn't get a called 3rd strike with his 12-6 curve ... in the 3rd inning.

Is it legal to warm up a pitcher in the clubhouse? Or in the batting cage? Seriously question...

Sheehan is a bitchen idea. Kid has balls as big as churchbells ... (as you must @irish )

Big omission from my game recap.

I take my shots at Pages, but what a throw to nail the runner at third just before the lead runner hit home plate.

so Cincy just has to beat the brew crew twice and they're in
NY at Miami would seem to give them an advantage but they must be gripping
