Previous editions of the Rox would have folded up down 6-1 early. Not this bunch.

Rallied in the 9th against Scott, who gave up his first earned runs since June 9. Rox kept taking his outside fastballs to right-center. Didn't look like he had his slider working at all, first hitter aside. Big sin was walking their #9 hitter, who rarely walks. Great relay from Pages to Rojas to Rushing kept the game tied.

Lauer wasn't sharp, but gave them six innings. Vesia worked around a couple walks. Best effort of the night was Enriquez, who pitched the extra innings.

Three hits each from Sho (looking like his old self), Tucker (continuing his resurgence) and Rushing. Rushing's game winner wasn't crushed (might have broken his bat), but it found a hole through the drawn in infield. The value of making contact.

The mystery of Pages continues. Starts the relay in the 9th, then takes three straight fastballs when he had a chance to win it in the bottom of the same inning.

 

I covet some Rox players. I feel they have a talented young core...I'd like to offer them some legit pitching for a few. Like Tovar. I can't see Goodman or Karros going anywhere, but they have huge potential.
I'd like to see this Rox team bury SD and AZ...the Giants go without saying.
I hope LA is not in a position at the season's end where they have to go through the Rox. Uh- uh.

 

agree w Karros. wtf was that? of course i love seeing hit and runs and bunt plays but lets not get too cute and over do it.

 

So oddly inconsistent lineup these days... guess it's the fact that I can't really stay up for most games in LA. Can't get in the sack nights in a row at 1 AM+...just not healthy. So, I don't always see the magnificence of Muncy and Tucker, who we were told are batting over .400. I see Max with two little faggotty Ks and Tucker with a K and a DP. Bases loaded for Max right there...didn't miss anything that time either.
Guess all the hero shit happens after I call it a night.
I do see a guy like Lorenzen though pretty much getting through traffic for 5 innings, too. Could have a load of runs in this...calling all .400 hitters!

 

idk man MadMax is an all star, Alex is our second baseman of the future and Wrobo is an all star no matter what happens. i'm about to stretch and feel good!
