Pound them into submission Monday. Pitch them into submission on Tues. Yamamoto continues to be Toronto's worst nightmare. Great outing for Vesia, despite making things exciting with the walk to load the bases with no one out. Treinen continues his redemption tour, retiring the 2-3-4 hitters with ease. Diaz made things interesting with a walk, but wrapped things up with a K. 8-9 hitters (Kim and Freeland) had half their team's eight hits and scored all four runs. Played solid defense, too. Tucker salvaged a forgettable night (3 Ks and a misplayed fly ball) with the single that drove in the tack on run in the 9th.
In early April, 11th game into the season, do you really need to push your best pitcher another inning when he's clearly tiring ? You've got a stacked bullpen that's definitely not overworked, but you send your ace out there for another ? Your team is 9-2, not half bad. From a guy with one of the fastest hooks ever, to a guy who needlessly works a pitcher to a point he absolutely doesn't need to. The Dodger tradition of working pitchers to death, like Valenzuela, Mashall, Proctor, Koufax, Singer, etc. etc., regardless of recent success, is being upheld by Dave the Slave. Hopefully, Yama may have just enough of a hose ( like Sutton, who never got ruined ), to deal with it. Huzzah!
@billplunkettocr ROJAS: "I wanted to play yesterday, but Freddie and Doc took it out of my hands, 'cause they knew it was gonna be difficult to stay in the game and have my head there. ... I always say, they raised me up and they give up everything in their life for me to be a baseball player. This is what they want me to do. They know how much pride I take in showing up every day, and not letting my teammates down."
Boys look like they don't have it today...so far, anyway. Watching paint dry here. Ohtani ( who seems to be somewhat pissed off this season, imo) looks out of rythym to me. Or maybe married life. ?
Blue Jays defense is an absolute train wreck this year possibly as bad as any team defense I've ever watched love it
Cease looks like he should be in Deadwood in 1883. Can't believe he never picked up the nickname Sheriff or Marshall. Maybe that's why his name is Dylan? Get it, you old guys ?
Well ,Pages sucks agaIn. And Dave the Slave will strike again this game evidently...hope Shoho keeps for another inning...
Great game by Shohei who clearly didn't have it. Big balls today And a mgr. who tried again to give it away...LA's best friend: Guerrero, Jr. Muchas gracias.
