I know this is sacrilege, but at least at the moment, I'd rather see Rushing up than Smith.

Still interested to know what the plan was if the game went extra. One of Rushing or Smith would've had to play an infield spot other than first base.

At first I was thinking Will to 3B and Max to 2B. Will played one game at first and one at third five years ago. Freddie played 16 games at 3B for the Braves in 2017.

Glad we didn't have to find out.

Probably two of the longest of long shots came through last night.

Yamamoto pitches a shitty game and Tucker drives in the game winning run with two outs in the bottom of ninth. A third longshot might be Teo taking two walks.

Four relievers pitch four shutout innings of one hit ball. Vesia was all over the place, but survived. Henriquez shockingly pitched an inning without a walk.

Good patience by Pages and Rushing, drawing walks and setting the plate for Shohei's double.

I hold my breath every time he takes the mound, but he's only given up runs in 2 of 14 appearances so far.

Fittingly no action on the game day thread. Much like the Dodger lineup the past two nights.

Tone was set in the first inning, with both Muncy and Teo shitting themselves with the bases loaded. They finally break through in the eighth and have runners on first and third with one out. Marlins change pitchers and Tucker hacks at the first pitch (a strike, but up and in) and hits a weak ass popup to the infield. He has to be a little more selective there. Muncy then finishes off the inning with ground out.

Sho bobbed and weaved through six. Pen gave them another three scoreless. Pitchers did their part last night.

As painful as it is watching the Dodger lineup stagger around like a bunch drunks, it doesn't compare with listening to homer Nelson and giggling Jessica.

Team is 20-10 with Freddie, Will, Teo and Tucker all slumping somewhat and Mookie is still sidelined.

Credit to the staff, especially the starters.

Yeah, it's difficult to get up for the game when it feels the team is not.

I wonder if the lead off position was too big for Rushing last night. I'd have gone with Kim. Not that he has a ton more MLB experience, but he just seems more seasoned - a couple years older plus more pro experience. And really, he's more of a prototypical leadoff guy - get on and use his speed. Rushing seemed like a bad fit for that spot. But oh well, Davey happens, what are you going to do?

Hopefully Roberts' getaway game lineup can score some runs and make this game more comfortable than the first two.

    Doesn't seem fair does it.
Right now, these 3 games, the Marlins simply look like a better team. A team that wants to win...just not mailing it in.
The LA performances against Paddack and Just were gaggingly bad.
