Daughter and grandkids from Ohio treated us to the opening night game. They spent a few days with us before heading south to spend time with friends. They wanted to be near the water so daughter picked Malibu. I knew it was a bad idea. We joined them on game day. Took us two hours to get to the stadium. Missed almost all of the pre-game stuff. Luckily the pre-game angst was erased by a Dodger win. Totally agree with Diablo. Not sure what the young ladies are doing to themselves.

Could do without Will Farrell and Anthony Anderson during the pre-game ceremonies. Can't stand Anderson's hollering DJ act and Farrell is a poser Speaking of noise, the volume at the stadium could be turned down a little. I've been to Who concerts. I know loud. Dodger Stadium is annoyingly loud.

Loved hearing the heartfelt ovations given the Series heroes like Miggy, Klein, Will Smith and Yamamoto. Best of all was the one for Vesia. Choked me up. Great touch the way they handled presenting Kershaw with his ring. Perfectly done.

Ten hits in the first game, but just 10 over the next two. Made what hits they got count, much like the Series.

Solid starts from Yamamoto and Glass. Backed by impeccable work from the pen. Klein building on his Series work. Scott looking more like Scott the Padre rather than Scott the '25 Dodger. Vesia solid as always and Diaz living up to the hype.

Warning track Freddie broke loose last night. Had to know Will would do something special on his bobble head (and birthday) night.

Tucker playing an excellent RF. Quite a contrast from what we saw in RF a year ago. Two nice relay throws to Freeland and got the game winning in the middle game to boot.

That Mookie took one out to right center was particularly encouraging. Freeland took full advantage of his start.

Got the sweep despite getting little from Sho and Teo.

Speaking of sweeps.......damn shame about those Giants.

wish i would have known you were at the game fsu
nice to put a face to a poster and a lot of us have met and pressed flesh at the games for a minute
kind of miss the lair nights although i appreciate not having the same financial desperation i did back then
ah masseuses and quinceneras those were the days
awesome we were able to spend the night w our babies and i hope yours was as fulfilling as mine
nothing like being w the kids and congratulations on the grandchild
hoping those might be coming after the May wedding
how about that 107 WW2 vet and the fly over?
agree on Ferrell he's really a load and i didn't understand what people were finding funny although Elf is forever a classic w Burgundy
didn't end up trying any of the new food either just too packed
weird how a large part of the crowd just sort of doesn't pay attention to the game at all isn't it?

    Great observations.

Would have been nice to meet up, but our "getting to the game" was kind of chaotic.

I was just about to post about the Italian born 107 yr old vet. What a stud. Silver Star honoree and a survivor of the Battle of Bulge. Love that he was wearing his uniform. Total bad ass.

Same impression of Ferrell. Like Elf, but not much else. He's always pulling "look at me" shit at Kings' games.

I swear of 60% of the crowd pays little to no attention to the game. Too involved with food, drink and phones.

My grandson, despite his Ohio roots, is 100% LA sports fan. Loves his Dodgers, Rams and Lakers and wears his gear to school. He called me last night (shortly before midnight his time) after the game last night.

The Dodgers get a rest day Sunday, but jump straight back into their six-game homestand with a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday.

LA has already declared their starters for the three games, and will have Roki Sasaki, Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto face their opponents in that order. The Guardians are also of to a strong start to the season, having beaten the Seattle Mariners in two of their three games so far. They’ll finish their four-game set in Seattle on Sunday before heading down to LA.

The first game of the series comes Monday at 7:10 p.m. PT, as Sasaki looks to bounce back following a rough stretch of games throughout the spring.

roki really needs to have a soliddecent outing
doesn’t needs to be lights out, just a little better
if he continues to falter, there’s really no (plausible) reason to keep throwing him out there
might be best to use him out of the pen or perhaps send him down to work on things
wrobo or ryan would be much better options at this point

sounds like you have a big loving family good for you mate
literally nothing else matters but man does it get harder to hold on to as we age
that 60% of people is what's responsible for the 40% of solid fans having to watch the game through a net now
about the only thing that takes my attention from the game is the occasional smoke show or trying to locate a stat on the board
btw how lame was it that none of the outfield or baseline lighting, scores and balls/strikes were on to start the season?
maybe keep the old ones in place until all the parts get there?
had to keep looking at my phone to get any on time info in regards to the game

    Thanks for the kind words.
I can never lose interest in them, not after being a fan for 70 years...impossoble. But if I can't see them, I can't see them. I tried everything I could to stream them somewhere else, but no luck. I'll keep trying everything I can ( which, tbh, isn't all that much), but it's not due to lack of interest.

One more suggestion, BZoo ... if you download Brave (search engine, better than Google IMO) ... streameast works better in my experience... Firefox also... good luck.
