    My three favorites are Moneyball, 42 and Bull Durham. That said, I love just about any movie about baseball.

    For me, *61 lost a lot of it's luster since it came out in accordance with the whole home run surge. Once the whole steroid thing happened, it kind of ruined a bit of the movie since the beginning and end are both about those runs. Still a good baseball movie, as I have watched it recently, but the whole McGwire thing at the end makes it a bit more cringey for me now.

    Yeah, I have never understood why baseball treated Maris like such shit. I get that he was not the warmest dude in the world, but it was not like he was evil. I definitely came away hating the NY baseball media a bit more and that has carried over into a continuous feeling for me today.

    Pretty simple really. He wasn't Mickey Mantle, the golden boy despite his off the fields foibles.

    Bad News Bears (Billy Bob)
    Fever Pitch
