FWIW, he's scheduled to start the Sunday before the game, likely taking him off the ASG roster entirely

The ASG sucks, this year no exception.
In fact, it is a prime example of how fucked up it can all be. Players left off that shouldn't be, and bad feelings everywhere. I guess Bochy is feeling like it's kinda his thing to do every July. That's what comes from 3 WS Championships, I guess. Familiarity breeds contempt.
Every year it blows more and more. It's really turned the corner this year into the fugazy bullshit game it is; clearly defined.
Oh, and Selig was a cowardly, ass-kissing turd.
And the HR Derby sucks also...maybe Joc will get straight at it, and make some fucking contact which has gone from his game lately.
I sure hope nothing happens. But I'm pretty sure he'll exceed the Puig appearance of last year with his 0 HRs.
I was admonished after I posted that I thought Puig wouldn't do well, isn't that type of hitter, that he would "rake" in the derby.
Maybe he raked some leaves, IDK, but not the baseball. as it turned out.
Joc could do very well, I think.
Which, after all is said and done, means nothing. As long as it comes and goes without incident.
Wow....can you wait for Berman's "back, back, back, back, back..."??

To me MLB is the best ASG of the major sports. It's awesome how everyone wears their team uniform and actually competes. It's awesome.

Yeah the fans suck at voting and Selig made some dumb changes. But it is easily the most watchable ASG in sports for me.

    Steve Dilbeck.
Writes an article that says CK does not belong in the ASG.

An hour later writes one that says he does.

Why do they even allow that idiot in the building?

Yeah cause it's the only one where its possible to play both offense and defense at at least an average effort.

I enjoy it too though. Dodger fans are bad voters, myself included, but I enjoy seeing some of my favorite players inside and outside of the Dodgers playing together.

One of my major complaints though is the number of relievers they have go. Relievers throw like 1/3 of the innings a starter does and a starter is just a much more deserving player to go, you don't need 7 relievers there. I say you get the top 2-3 closers in the game, and the rest of your pitchers are starters.

I also don't agree with how every team needs representation.

    Papelbon and K-Rod? C'mon.

Yeah that's pretty shitty too. Like, yeah now you've made Brewers and Phillies fans so happy cause they're closer might throw a few pitches in the all star game!

Brewers and Phillies fans probably wanna watch Cueto and Kershaw before K-Rod and Papelbon

    You are correct sir!

Agreed...The NBA allstar game has fallen off and the fucking Pro bowl is a joke. Does anyone even watch that game?

The only people watching the Pro Bowl are snowed in somewhere in Bumfuck, NW Iowa.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, for sure.
Us, the fans, the players, Vinny, and most of all Brucie Bochy...
But all the yearly ideas, changes, should be, shouldn't be, blah ,blah, is just a testament to what a cluster fuck a once great institution has morphed into.
Why does it need so much tweaking then?
    To those who like it...enjoy!

If Grainkey doesn't start the ASG. Then a reliever should.

Carlos Martinez won the NL final vote meaning voters are just as clueless as Bruce Bochy is when choosing the right players.

What it means is Kershaw better go out there in October and earn some of his respect back.

No sense waiting until then but an October exclamation point is warranted.

Candidly at this point in the season even CK thinks he hasn't earned it.

CK not going to the ASG means absolutely nothing in the real world.
    Means completely zero shit.
Better he goes home and spends the time with his kid and barf- inducing ( as we were informed here that she is), wife.
