Doug McKain@DMAC_LA BREAKING: Dave Roberts confirmed that Gavin Lux suffered a torn ACL during yesterday’s game and will miss the entire 2023 season. #DodgersST 9:00 AM · Feb 28, 2023 · 41K Views .
espn… Roberts told reporters that Lux also suffered damage to his LCL and will undergo surgery March 7.
freak injury and a truly fucked up way to start the season rojas isn't ready and it would seem like CT at ss and try to sort the OF out yuck
Last year Machado steps on first awkwardly and initial thoughts were that he's done for the season. He goes on to have one of the best of his career. We couldn't be so lucky with Lux, could we? I'm telling you, it's the curse of Roberts. Some cosmic force is telling us, you had opportunities to win multiple championships. You wasted them. You're out of chances. No soup for you. Seriously wouldn't mind seeing them taking a pass on this season, trade a couple players to reset the salary threshold, and come back next winter and sign Ohtani and every other big name FA - kind of like the Padres have done. Oh, and get a manager that can win.
Been a while since I've seen a leg bend like that Going to hope he can have a career going forward If they get ohtani what are the chances he stays healthy? Lot of eggs in one basket
I agree and for the record, I'd rather they spread the Ohtani money over multiple impact players. But mostly I'd just like to know that they have a plan, and right now I don't see it. Passing on Bogaerts, DeGrom, Verlander, et al and letting Trea go only to STILL be above the threshold (despite being done with the Price contract), which means the penalty rate goes up again this year and will go up incrementally next year, while we watch the competition get stronger, just makes no sense to me. In other words, I just hope that this year isn't wasted and then next winter they decide the penalty rate has gone up too much and it's time to reset. And to keep this post on topic, I feel for Lux. Word is that he worked hard in the offseason and with him slated to bat leadoff, this was lining up to be his big breakout year. Now like you said, I hope this doesn't derail his career. In this day of entitled athletes and in-it-for-the-money, he definitely strikes me as one who plays the game for the right reasons.
The season's already a cluster fuck, and not one pitch thrown yet that means anything. Laststatman is telling it right...read the signs and omens Andy, and get rid of that festering albatross around the team's neck. If that's not a focused cosmic message, unfortunately the hit taken by the wrong kid, nothing is... For crissakes, how many times are we gonna run this groundhog day scenario ?
Maybe I missed it in the deluge of rule changes...but is the superimposed electronic K zone box gone now ?
was sort of passively watching while working and hanging w mom but it didn't look like he was fooling anyone saw some hard hit balls deep but i don't think he gave up any ER
