Listening to Scully go through those stats, both positive and negative, left me with these feelings: Honeycutt is real fucking good at his job. Hansen, not so much.
And how much dose it add to the overall angst that we played 12 more teams over .500 than the Cardinals did...they played 12 teams more than we did under .500. A difference total of 24?
    FTW.
And I guess it's sour grapes, but I've felt this way way before the Giants won the NLW.
Their team looks very dirty and smelly. We all now about Pigpen, by his own admission. But what about Sandoval? And Romo? And the best BB player that ever put on a uniform (after Posey), Marco Scutaro? And Bochy? And...well you see 'em all...
Maybe that's why they win. Filthy. Or is that only with pitchers?

I'm usually a very pessimistic person, especially with the Dodgers, and I fully understand why. Yup, no fucking doubt about it.
And if the Mayans were right, we're really fucked now.

Nah... I was just kidding with you... I tip my hat to Ned and his scouting team on this signing (similar to Carroll last year)... Mark proved what it is to show up everyday and perform... Damn he even almost loses his leg!!! He plays solid defense everyday and knows what his role with the bat it... It was really overlooked at the beginning of the season, but one of the main reasons we scored so many early runs was because of the formula Dee singles, steals, mark ground to the right side, Ethier sac flies... He gives himself up for the team...

I've never been a fan of comparing the records of teams played against, cuz thats really no ones fault... Look at the O's... People always say "AL Esta teams are screwed cuz they play Boston and NY so many times". Well, this year Boston sucked, who knows for next year...

What is sure is that Hansen is not good... How you have guys slump as bad as some of our players do, Uribe turned into shit overnight, Ethier being incapable of hitting LHP, Hanley, Gonzo and Victorino playing like shit for 3 weeks...

I've always been sort of a Honeycutt defender. He has turned mediocre pitchers into decent/good pitchers, and he does it every year... I cant wait to see what he does with Beckett...

After all 2012 was fun, and 2013 will be epic...

Ha, I'll be around, I don't do much, but the offseason is naturally slower. It was fun for a few hours every day.

have to back off on honeycutt. he has really proven himself and deserves respect.
as far as hansen, i really don't think he was really going to try and influence hanley, gonzo, ethier and victorino. maybe uribe. there certainly aren't too many offensive success stories so that lays at his feet.
still think it comes down to fire in the belly. all these guys can hit and make adjustments.

Honeycutt is actually a god IMO.

He's helped several reclamation projects and taken questionable pitching staffs on paper and keeps putting them in the top quadrant of the league yearly.

Blame Joe for ruining guys like Broxton. Broxton started throwing 93 mph. Because he was overworked. And an EVEN MORE telling that he was over worked was his slider being absolute shit. It was a cement mixer by 2011. When you're throwing sliders that don't break...just spin in the air and float over the plate...that's dead arm syndrome.

    Honeycutt has been fantastic

You're talking about the same fanbase that booed Nomar when he returned as an Athletic. Sometimes(like you) these fans piss me off! I'm suprised they didn't Boo Mark off the field.

EDIT: I reread my post and want to clarify that I didn't mean "you" piss me off, rather that the fans piss me off and I know you get pissed off at them too. Like when Bills got hurt and the fans would rather scream for a beachball. How they do a wave in the ninth inning when the tying run is at 2nd, etc. LOL, buncha dumbass aholes.

Go look at the stats since Honeycutt has been here and you'll bow down to the bitch.

Honeycutt is the most underrated badass motherfucker on the Dodgers

Can Honeycutt be the hitting coach too?

I have no idea why people hated Nomar. I remember we had some posters around here that couldn't stand him either. He played his heart out for the Dodgers. Was definitely my favorite Dodger in '06. Always going to remember that 2 out 2-run double to tie the game in game 1 of the NLDS.

I think it fairly obvious that with the last game being on a Wednesday and Kemp having shoulder surgery on Friday with a determination once open of how bad it is we ought to consider that swinging through pain is not something many players would even try to do. Unless we think he is just having surgery to cover up for not getting anything done the last couple of games after a shoulder collision at the plate.

Loved Nomar. Loved Kent. Two completely different guys who gave their all every time they went out there.
Class act, Nomar. My kid wears his jersey.

Kent was great too. Sure, he was like the old man that yells at you to get off his lawn, but he could hit the hell out of the ball and play OK defense.
