this is an utter fucking joke. Does this team just think they can flip the fucking switch when they are gonna be facing DeGrom and Scherzer and not the worst pitching staff in baseball. the last two weeks has been an utter embarrassment by the offense. Need to get their fucking shit together and act like they fucking care

    Damn right.
Dave getting the kudos because of the historical records they've achieved in recent years, and maybe he deserves it, Idk. Certainly more than I give him credit for...quite possible, highly probable, because I'll always feel many would have had better success in the post season.
That said, he now has the team in the worst possible status it could possibly be in, going into the playoffs. And deserves equal criticisms for it.
You're absolutely right, they are playing like shit, and although the point escapes some, to get knocked around by a team they are 30+ games ahead of atm, at home, is disheartening, not to mention a portend. Even worse that the team doing it sucks perennially. And hidden in this, is a deteriorating defense, sadly.
Maybe the bye time they've achieved will miraculously wake them up, and Robots guarantee will come to fruition. Maybe. Maybe Vegas odds will ring true. But it looks like a sleepwalking offense, playing some of the worst ball of the whole season.
Their talents should be waxing, not waning like a moon phase.
Or, possibly the old nugget of " the playoffs are a new ballgame" will ring true, and we'll be all what we can be and have been.
    I sure hope so.

Of course the one seed gets the much harder LDS series than the two seed in the AL and NL. Stupid ass shit

Yeah, Atlanta looks scary right now. The top two NL East teams scare me the most in the playoffs. AL included. If we somehow draw SD in the NLDS, that better be a win.

A series vs the Mets feels like a 5 game series to me. They're still a 100 win team that went 16 games over .500 in the 2nd half of the season. The Braves just started winning at an insane pace

Fervently hope that CK can be the loss stopper that he always is. Of course the offense is on vacation, and may not help him at all. Two wins out of six to these bottom dwellers can't be a good thing as a closing act.
Like to earn a split on this series at least and end on an up note. That's the best we can do now.
I thought the bye might initially be a bad thing because off time sometimes kills the momentum, but with the way we've been playing, this might be best.
    We'll see soon enough.

    @FabianArdaya
Dave Roberts again didn’t commit to a Game 1 starter between Julio Urías and Clayton Kershaw. The crux of the decision: who do the Dodgers want lined up to start a Game 5 on regular rest (and who they feel comfortable potentially using in Game 5 on short rest).

Now, that HR was as timely and as good as it gets. Trea was looking worn out or something before that.
Now lets hold on for Kershaw, amongst many other reasons.

Gotta feel good about this one. Nice to split, better to win decisively.
Now a good mojo for the working vacation coming up.
Too bad about Freddie with the batting title..they did get him on that- but not Julio.
    So glad for Clayton,too.
    What a year he had...

Can totally see Freddie having a huge postseason and putting the offense on his back

Was an absolute treat to watch him this season.

That HR from Trea was super encouraging. He has looked lost for a long time and I'm hoping yesterday gave him the confidence he needed just in time for the playoffs. We can't win a WS if he performs like he did last postseason.

    Urias-Kershaw-Anderson-Gonsolin?

Short rest starts have never worked out well for us under Roberts. I hope we ride the 4 man rotation and have the bullpen ready if Catman can't go deep
