    Hesitant. That calm "here's my fastball OR my splitter" look he had all year was missing.

    He claimed post game that he'll work on that cool factor in bullpen.

    I figured him wrong. I thought he was a flake. Apparently he's got that Iron Mike Marshall hyper-intellectual thing going on.

    this is an utter fucking joke. Does this team just think they can flip the fucking switch when they are gonna be facing DeGrom and Scherzer and not the worst pitching staff in baseball. the last two weeks has been an utter embarrassment by the offense. Need to get their fucking shit together and act like they fucking care

    Dave getting the kudos because of the historical records they've achieved in recent years, and maybe he deserves it, Idk. Certainly more than I give him credit for...quite possible, highly probable, because I'll always feel many would have had better success in the post season.
    That said, he now has the team in the worst possible status it could possibly be in, going into the playoffs.And deserves equal criticisms for it.
    You're absolutely right, they are playing like shit, and although the point escapes some, to get knocked around by a team they are 30+ games ahead of atm, at home, is disheartening, not to mention a portend. Even worse that the team doing it sucks perennially. And hidden in this, is a deteriorating defense, sadly.
    Maybe the bye time they've achieved will miraculously wake them up, and Robots guarantee will come to fruition. Maybe. Maybe Vegas odds will ring true. But it looks like a sleepwalking offense, playing some of the worst ball of the whole season.
    Their talents should be waxing, not waning like a moon phase.
    Or, possibly the old nugget of " the playoffs are a new ballgame" will ring true, and we'll be all what we can be and have been.
    I sure hope so.

    True enough.

    But from one skeptic to another, it won't be the team LA plays that beats them. It'll be themselves if they lose.

    At this point, I'm about half certain LA breezes in the DS but gets beat in the CS.

    I think Atlanta might repeat. They have heated up & they really believe in themselves.

    Yeah, Atlanta looks scary right now. The top two NL East teams scare me the most in the playoffs. AL included. If we somehow draw SD in the NLDS, that better be a win.

    A series vs the Mets feels like a 5 game series to me. They're still a 100 win team that went 16 games over .500 in the 2nd half of the season. The Braves just started winning at an insane pace
