Okay I can buy that, but let's see if Vargas is in today's lineup. Will Scarecrow finally give him consecutive starts?

Pretty sure he started the first two games of this series.

Like to see him get a shot at 3B on occasion. Anybody but Biggio.

but, to be fair, consider who they’ve been pitching against…

Ehhhh, I get this thought process 100%, but I think it's a little unnecessary in this scenario. Taylor doesn't really grade out as a superior outfielder, and we're perfectly fine with Teo out there who by all measures is awful defensively.

I think the offensive value added by Vargas outweighs the slight defensive advantage Taylor brings.

This is the biggest crime right now. The fact that he hasn't played a single game in the infield this year is absurd.

You live with the less the stellar defense for the potential offensive output. Especially when we're comfortable running a guy like Mookie out at SS lol

Without a doubt. I was defending Taylor as a late inning defensive replacement in a 1 run game.

    Teo update......

Teoscar Hernández returned to the team Tuesday afternoon after traveling to the Dominican Republic for the funeral of his 94-year-old grandfather, Pedro Perez, who died on Sunday morning. The outfielder was not in the lineup for Tuesday night’s game but was available to pinch-hit.

“I was close with him for my whole life, and he just loved, loved, loved baseball,” Hernández said of his grandfather, who was in failing health. “He was a really big fan. But he was getting sicker and sicker, so at some point, we were waiting for it. But I think now he’s in a better place. More peace.”

I'm not a batting coach, but Heywood stands as far away from the plate as any batter I've ever seen. I mean he's almost up the first baseline. I don't get it.
I see no one, even bigger dudes than him, way out there.

That's what I meant as well. I don't think he's truly that much better of a defensive left fielder.

He was a defensive replacement but ended up getting an AB in Vargas's original spot. I would have preferred leaving Vargas out there defensively because the offensive output in the lineup is more valuable to me than the slight (if any) increase in defensive ability.

Perfect example of a game where Vargas should be at third.

Smith will get a badly needed two days off. Never seen him look so lost.

To think that just last year Dodgers future seemed to be in the hands of Miller and Sheehan, and to a lesser degree Grove, while Stone looked over hyped and a valueless prospect.

Now, Miller has looked pedestrian when not hurt, Sheehan is going to miss the season (I think), and Grove has been meh... but it's Stone who is pitching like an All-star.

And just a gut feeling, but I think his stuff has potential for the long run.

Crazy, I know it's the White Sox, but 8 scoreless and still at a pitch count that if Davey wanted (and I don't think he will), he could let him go for a CGSO. Can't remember when we last had one of those.
