oh, and here's something to read http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/18997/dodgers-collect-30-something-mediocrities
Ned is not a good GM, he sucks, but it just seems that everyone is overreacting to these signings IMO. My biggest issue is that he is showing little as far as a plan. -Sign Kennedy and then sign Hairston? Just sign Hairston, fuck Kennedy. What about Sellers? -Sign Treanor and then sign Bard? Why not just sign Bard? They both suck...do we need 2? -Now he's rumored to be trading for a bat? Now that he's signed all these guys, doesn't that limit his options for trades?
The nail in the coffin was the Jason Schmidt contract. The dude is a full-blown vampire at this point gaining power as he continues to suck on the dreams of Dodger fans.
there's no way he has a trade in the works, unless its for Loney or Ethier, which would create a hole... I really dont understand why the Dodgers have a farm system if the GM is so reluctant to use it... Sellers or De Jesus were basically the same as Ellis, and for sure better than Kennedy Sands wont be a lot worse than Rivera Eovaldi could probably be better than Capuano
We may disagree with this article but it is a business perspective on our off season from Forbes. http://www.forbes.com/sites/sportsm...ers-find-a-driving-force-in-post-mccourt-era/ I suspect a number of potential owners will read this article. Blackstone could not have done a better job writing the article themselves. They didn't write it, right?
Can't say that thought hasn't crossed my mind; I just hope the new owner has deep pockets and isn't shy about spending. We need some sort of maverick who who sees what Moreno is doing a wants to outdo him. A maverick, hmmm...
Irish, not sure if you read the link I posted about the provision in the media contract limiting the ability of the new owner to create a Dodger network of their own. That along with the other article on Cuban and Guggenheim etc being interested now because they can negotiate a media contract now and use that money to help finance the purchase. If Fox wins the deep pockets may not be there.
No, I somehow missed that. Wow, the ability to create their own Dodger network would be huge (see NY Yankees).
Yeah and it would be easy for the group Magic is part of. They have the money, experience and resources in regional networks called Turner.
It is all a moot point. Read the link I started about Frank keeping the team So goodbye Dre and maybe Loney.
