It feels so good to smack these bastards around like this, after what they've been doing to us for quite a while now.
I'll never forget losing to them in the playoffs, and duflus Tracy making the team go out there and shake hands with them like Little Leaguers. I have always respected Metheny somewhat, but I tought that some of the shit he did in the series was weird, but who cares...
great all-around effort by the whole team.
I figured Ryu was barely more than a .500 pitcher, but he sure is way over .500, that's for sure.
Puig's triple was truly just an extraordinary feat of athleticism. My jaw dropped when he made it to 3rd... easily. Just awe-inspiring pure ability. It's true I think, this guy is equal to Bo Jackson. I don't know if he will achieve what Jackson did, but he has equal tools, I'm convinced. Hard to believe what he is capable of doing.
If they ever race, Dee and Yasiel, I'm throwing down on Puig.
    Big time.

This guy Martinez is so fast....over and over the MPH was given.... and like always, if you don't have something else to compliment it , you'll lose in the bigs. See: Jonathan Broxton, as a LAD. And myriad fireballers too countless to even try to name.
You can only have one other pitch, but it needs to be a good, even great one, then your speed is a truly powerful weapon. See: Koufax
    Martinez...meh tonight.
Metheny a bit dopey dealing with him, too I thought.
IMO, amazing that Miller's arm only had a "contusion", and that's about it. I thought it ws snapped like a twig. maybe he won't even miss a start, so that's why Martinez was left in there like a Dr. Josef Mengele experiment.

Getting rid of Cruz was the key.

Remember how long ago it feels we brought up Puig?....
....well we've only lost 18 games since then. WOW.

The Puig ball got out to the wall so fast, there is no way he should've had time to stretch it to 3. But with Puig, the rules of physics and motion don't apply.

Dee would smoke Puig in a race, imo.

That's all Dee has going for him, though.

Yeah no shit! Especially in LF. I must be getting used to him though because I honestly expected a triple the moment it went over Holigay's head! I'm not kidding...it's just how it will be with him I guess.

He really scares the shit out of me when he slides though. He's not to good at it and he seems to be going to fast to slide...if that's possible.

I'm not sure but I'd think Dee would too. I know he wouldn't smoke him, it'd be close.
I would like to see them race for sure.
I think a relay race with Dee and AGon vs. Puig and Loney might be fun.

Dee runs a 60yd dash 6.35 seconds, which works out to 4.22 seconds. That's faster than any NFL player, but this is all unofficial timing, of course. That's pretty crazy.

I don't understand. why would 6.35 seconds work out to 4.22 seconds?

Fuck. I meant in a 40 yd dash, which is what they use in the NFL.

Oh I see. Conversions are not accurate because they don't translate the difference between acceleration and top speed.
Not sure it would matter with such a minute difference in time.

Like in drag racing 1/8 mile is half of 1/4 mile. Well, logically thinking...if a car does 12 seconds in a quarter mile, it should do 6 seconds in the 1/8. That's not even close though because in reality, a car or person travels slowest in the initial acceleration phase and accelerate at differing rates as speed increases. A 12 sec 1/4 mile actually converts to an 7.70 sec 1/8 mile.
So, Dee might accelerate faster than Puig or football player from a dead stop because he's light as fuck, and Puig or football player might accelerate faster after 30-40 yards because he's stronger and they've finally gotten that higher mass moving. Or vice versa.

That was an awesome road trip, was thinking 5 out of 8 would have been solid with the Cubs playing better, the Cardinals always tough at home and no Hanley. Thrilled to see the team take 7 and now they are rewarded with a late night flight home to play the Rays tomorrow who are coming off of a rest day(FUCKING MLB schedule makers!). This is going to be a huge series and hopefully we will have Hanley back sometime during it.

I think it is time to start getting Dee reps in the OF in the off season. It is getting harder and harder to see him as anything more than a utility guy, which sucks as I am a big fan of the kid. Imagine Dee, Puig and CC in the OF in late game defensive situations, that could end up being beneficial.
