You have a major boner for the light hitting, backup infielders. :p

I have a boner for guys that play hard every play and don't stand there posing or showing up the opposing team.
I have a boner for players that play fundamentally sound baseball most of the time instead of relying on god gifted ability to "glide" through a game.
I have a boner for guys that have to try their hardest just to play in the majors instead of being so damn gifted that they take it for granted.
I have a boner for guys that work hard for less money, less praise, BUT MORE shit talked about them from fans on the internet because they aren't as good as the superstars.

Damn, that's deep. Approximately how many years did it take you to come to this mentality? Hasn't happened to me yet, but you know me, not being around the game as long as you vets.

For real though, I do appreciate hustle, grit, etc. I like the way Schumaker/Punto/Ellis play the game. Just easier to bash them because they're not superstars I guess.

People have been upset with Puig for posing, but there's about 2 players I've seen play with that intensity this year... and that's Bryce Harper and Yasiel himself. I can get over a pose or bat flip as long as he doesn't cost the team a base and continues to hit over .300. Cause let me tell you, that shit isn't cute when you're not hitting water even if you fell out of a boat (I'm talking to you, Cody Ross). So harp on Yasiel/Hanley, but those guys are hitting over .360 and are the main reasons we are where we are.

I love the bat-flip, love the swagger. Wish everyone would show up the pitchers make that shit like wwe, or ford as you might remember how Ty Cobb used to do it.

Man I almost shat my pants at lunch when I saw that turf ball bounce over Rasmus' head.

And how about Puig? Looks like he's finally starting to make adjustments and exhibit some patience. The force is strong in this young padawan.

Remember when Lyons said "this team should fall out of bed and score 6 runs" earlier in the season and we all thought he was crazy?

when looking back on this season
it'll look like just a win against a poor, struggling team
but this 6-0 road trip -- and in particular last night's game -- may be the true turning point to a successful (perhaps championship) season
sweeping the national's -- with their big 3 throwing -- was a feat in itself
but coming back twice in a row the past two nights showed the heart and character of a special team
there's always "that" time in a championship season -- where the team does something to turn that corner from also ran to winner
in '88 it was a 5-game sweep against the cubs, '81 fernandomania
and i'm cautiously optimistic that last night was "that" moment
and the best part was that it was a team effort
dre with 5 hits, mark with the bomb, puig being puig...
the way they picked up a-gone -- who one night prior was the hero -- was awesome
and the best part... these guys genuinely like each other
puig's enthusiasm has been infectious, and he plays with a fire and passion that was missing before he showed up

still a long way to go
but if we continue to play well, and make it into the postseason
with this offense and kershaw/greinke/ryu in any series...
well, you gotta like our chances
