wavering between floyd by decision (likely) or conor by ko (less likely)
but i put some coin on mcgregor just because the odds were so favorable
if mayweather wins i'm out $100-200 (can't recall)
but if conor ko's him in 4 rounds or less...

 

All kinds of excuses. Lets keep telling ourselves these self delusions.

One of mine died this morning, she was 17 years old. It was sad, had to wrap her up and put her aside till I came home from work. I just got home but dont want to look her. Tomorrow I will have to put her under the big pine tree.
We are all saddened by it, but its not my mom, its not my wife, its not my kid, its not my neighbor or a coworker or even the guy that pumps my gas. It is not a human being. Its my dog and it sucks, but its my dog... coulda been worse.

The dog did not choose to live boxed inside a fenced yard. Or to eat well rationed kibble and drink water out of a bowl. The dog chooses something else. But no dog gets to do what he chooses.

I dont enjoy watching dogs fight. I know thats wrong.
I do enjoy watching humans fight. I know thats worse.

if Floyd doesnt play possum the last week the betting action would be lopsided.
now he is coming in with his bravado again to close the book
the line already moved enough to no matter who wins the casinos cant lose
you have to bet your house to win a tiny bit if you bet floyd
and you would have won a house with a tiny bet if you bet on mcgregor
but now that has shattered because the media has played yall into thinking that mcgregor might have a shot

if floyd is smart he keeps him alive for half the fight before putting him down gently, this ensures another big payday in the future
or he goes the distance and just humiliates mcgregor with punches so dana white never again tries to pull this trick off

and being such a prohibitive underdog, he could cripple vegas if he won

I enjoy watching the fights too.
It is an ethical conundrum. I think its bad news, but its not the only thing i think is bad news that I associate with. I think the fact that I enjoy watching boxing and MMA is worse than if I was a fan of animal fighting. That is an ethical conundrum as you put it.

 

MMA fighters and boxers have chosen to engage in that activity. They could walk away at any time.
Animals are forced by humans to fight and have no choice.

Let me begin my essay by stating that of course it is deplorable that humans put animals to fight.
But we put them to do a lot of other fucked up stuff. Like to kill other animals. Which they already do all the time on their own.
Just like we do. And it is all messed up in my opinion. I been hunting, i had fun, i feel it was fucked up. The birria was very tasty though.
We kill to satisfy our desire for meat. I love to eat meat. The hindus at least try to live up to their beliefs. They eat milk and cheese and whatever but wont eat the actually meat of an animal. Just their natural production. Like if they were a maple syrup tree.
Now think of the movie the Matrix. These fucking hindus harvest billions of cows to pump them for their life giving milk.. how fucked up is that, right? Imagine they keeping all our women in boxes artificially impregnated and chronically drugged so that they are always docile and lactating while being sucked out of the life force that weakens their body and whose sacrifice belongs to their calves?
Yeah, that whole last essay was ridiculous but thats just to show how ridiculous it is to deify animals.
Which is what people do when they put them above humans.
MMA fighters and boxers do what they do because we like to watch trainwrecks, we like to bet big money on blood and guts, we like soap operas, and there are plenty of people smarter and more sinister that are more than willing to jump on the bandwagon and extort money and power every step of the way to those who want to watch it or be involved.

The US buys a ton of pinto beans every year, probably more than anyone else.
Mexico sells most of its pinto beans to the US.
Mexico decides to grow a lot of pinto beans.
The price of the pinto bean is skyhigh in mexico and the poor cant afford them.
They eat white beans and black beans.
Which now cost more here than pinto beans.
That is why liking boxing and mma is unethical but perfectly legal, but not because something is legal does it mean its a good idea.
