Big SS from Canary Islands I believe (going by memory). I think he's still only 19. It's almost a certainty he'll have to move to third eventually. Great power, good eye to bat skills. I'll try to post a scouting report updated for 2026 when I'm at my computer. But there's a reason he's ranked 5th best Dodgers prospect - that means a lot more than it would in other organizations.

Quintero's streak ended in the 7 inning game. Would've been nice to see him get one more AB.

    Sirota's lives on.

I've always suspected Dodger players read DSP. Looks like their minor leaguers do too. A while back I commented that it appeared Zach Ehrhard doesn't have much power so he decided to prove me wrong... already has 6 homers in June in 43 ABs -- including 2 today.

Sirota just doubled-in 2 in the top of the tenth to give the Drillers a 6-3 lead. The significance of this is that he was 0-4 over the first nine. Streak is at 54.

    Here's the double: https://x.com/TulsaDrillers/status/2067071592014717405?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^2067071592014717405|twgr^4f387cb95dc7eeece8dec84583a1411c97dda228|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https://www.truebluela.com/los-angeles-dodgers-prospects/118312/evan-phillips-brock-stewart-payton-martin-mike-sirota

That extra inning saved him yesterday.

As impressive as this streak is, I won't be overly disappointed when it ends. I don't know if it's in his head at all, but his numbers - by his standards - have taken a step back in June. He hasn't had many multi-hit games or even extra base hits lately... seemingly settling for one hit or one walk each game. I can't help but wonder if he's just looking to slap one through a hole in the infield to make sure he keeps the streak instead of driving the ball. Just my thoughts, nothing more.

Anyhow, if he was close to the minor league record, I'd want him to get it, but he still needs like 20 more games to do so.

Last point on this topic. Ehrhard's streak ended, and he's been on a tear ever since. Maybe the same would happen to Sirota.

The farm has four Top-30 pitchers going today:

    AAA - Ryan
    AA - Copen
    A+ - Root
    A - Leiter

In addition, A+ also has a makeup game today. Starting pitcher is Aidan Foeller, Dodgers 11th round pick in '24. He has a 2.90 ERA/ 1.06 WHIP this year with a better than 3:1 K to BB ratio. We'll see if he can build on that.

Ugh, I jinxed them. Ryan and Root already have surrendered 4 each. I shouldn't have said anything.

On the bright side, red hot Ehrhard just hit his 7th HR of June.

Josue De Paula again. The #Dodgers’ top prospect homered for the 12th time this season, increasing his OPS to 1.001.

this kid is having an amazing season
if detroit insists on him being included in a trade for skubal, we should absolutely walk away and/or tell them to go fuck themselves

It really illustrates ( and has for a long time) that you are so right. I guess, even in spite of his HoF past accomplishments, people love can o corn fly outs.
He still has. elite mystique swirling about him, and as a centrepiece in a big Skubal aquisition, it's worth a shot to move him now. Even if he does regain some previous form.
I'm sure they can come up with a cleanup hitter/ss that bats .200. And is a competent fielder. Can't be that hard. I can think of two...that guy Kike and Kim. Love to keep the Sheehan/Wrobo/ kid corps of in tact.
And, Freeland looks like a guy with enough defensive prowess to make a switch if need be. Definitely looks like he has the range and arm strength, imo.

I don't know how update-worthy all this is, but since there's no Dodgers game today I figured I'd post something here.

Ehrhard remains en fuego. He hit a second HR yesterday and is now at 8 for the month. Only a base hit today but it drove in a run. Tibbs, who's been quiet lately, won the game with a 2-run homer in the tenth inning - his 20th of the season. Tibbs now has 61 RBIs and Ehrhard, who typically bats leadoff, is at 53.

The four Top-30 pitchers I mentioned that were starting yesterday didn't fair well as a group. Ryan and Root had their worst games of the season. Copen gave up a handful as has been his norm lately. The only one who pitched well was Leiter, although again was pulled after the third. He allowed 0 runs on 2 hits and no walks, impressively recording 7 of his 9 outs by way of strikeout.

I had also mentioned the 2024 11th-rounder Aidan Foeller. His game got rained out yesterday so he went today. Had a perfect game going through 4.2 and then allowed an infield single and his day was over. ERA is down to 2.52 and despite not being Top-30, he's become one to watch. Quintero basically stole the game for the Loons - he had two doubles, and after the second he swiped third base and came home on the errant throw... Loons won by one. Eduardo has his OPS up to .784 from his disastrous start and I expect it will be over .800 in the near future.

Unfortunately, Emil Morales still hasn't found his groove at this level. 0-4 with 2 K's today and remains below the Mendoza Line.

Sirota walked in his first AB yesterday, and for those keeping score at home, the streak is now at 55. He followed that with a single, double, and another walk. He's supposed to be playing right now but that game start is in a rain delay - we'll see if they go.

Lastly, I was trying to find an update on Kellon Lindsey who hasn't played in a couple of weeks but had been one of the farm's hottest hitters up to that point. I've found no mention of injury which is perplexing. What I did find though was a little disheartening. Teammate AJ Soldra - non Top-30 but having a great first season with an .886 OPS - is done for the year with a leg fracture resulting from an outfield collision with Jared Elkins.

Update: Loons second game of the DH just started and Emil got a hit, putting him back over the Mendoza (whopee!). On the mound is Dodgers #9 prospect Christian Zazueta. He hasn't had the success this year that he'd like, but so far over two June starts his ERA for the month is 2.84 and WHIP 0.95. Great start to today's game - perfect thru 2, K'ing 5 of 6.

    Lol.

For the second time in a week, Sirota goes into extra innings 0-4 and gets a walk to extend his streak.

    56 now.

Zazueta ended up pitching 5 perfect innings with 7 K's. 43 of 58 pitches were strikes. Then the manager did his best Davey Roberts impression and pulled him... the next guy immediately gives up 3 and the Loons lose.

Hoping this June run for Zazueta has legs.
